But because it's WARD it's all gravy

    "jus gettin paid man"

    "he deserves an easy payday"

****ing NSB just blows my mind.

let's look a bit deeper, shall we?
why would fighters in this situation be "shat on?"

ward's not a protected fighter or a cash cow. that's where the complaining has come from for similar fights in the past.

there's a difference here. this is one fight. before this he fought top fighters for relatively little money.

Personally I thought the Dawson fight was a gimme for Ward.

It was Dawsons own fault for being a moron and saying he'd o 168 but he was ****ing atrocious at that weight, like he'd of gotten sparke by most of the guys Ward already beat, he was that awful

But still it was a nice easy name.

Why doesn't he just go to 175 and fight one of the champs there at that weight? What's wrong with becoming a 2 weight champ?

i agree about the weight, but we could only know that to a degree of certainty after the fight. dawson offered to head to 168, and had actually been talking about it for years. he made the wrong call, but that's not andre ward's fault. it wasn't and was never a shameful fight. it was seen as a tremendous fight when it was signed

they also didn't get paid a ton of money for that fight

for some reason he won't fight bernard hopkins. i'm not defending it, but they won't fight eachother. i think ward said he would fight him for the right reasons, but i'll believe it when i see it.

at 175 i like kovalev, but otherwise it's kind of a bleh division. i don't want to see him fight cleverly or shumenov. those fights would be sh#T on similarly. shumenov is a total nobody, and cleverly is virtually unkown in the states. both are mediocre at best. shumenov sucks, frankly.

if you're talking about Chavez Jr here, he's hardly being dragged up in weight is he?

I see your point to some degree. What a Chavez fight brings is big money. Considerably more than GGG or even Martinez. It's a good fight for Ward, big money and a relatively easy fight for him to win.

Chavez vs Ward is a mismatch at any weight. Ward is thinking dollars you guys know this.

Martinez, Hopkins and Chavez are his only options for a money fight.
