While we are on that, let's not forget Williams' ranking at MW when Martinez fought him, dude moved up and was gifted a top 5 ranking, so I'm counting that as well as Pavlik's #1 ranking. That adds two more to the list for martinez, how many do we have so far for God of War?

I won't be waiting so no need to reply. I know you will though and I'll enjoy the reply all the same.
You answered your own question, now name a top 40 guy Murray has beat.

Instead of providing me a name, you're comparing Sergio's resume to Golovkins

Williams was ranked #2 at middleweight when Martinez fought him and had wins over Wright, Martinez I, and Kolle. Martinez was actually less experienced at 160 than Williams was.

Proksa wasn't a top 10 middleweight when GGG fought him, he was likely a borderline top 10 at best. The guy had just lost to Kerry Hope only five or six months prior.

Murray's resume is about as thin as Golovkin's, but Sturm was not only a better opponent than any GGG has faced, but his draw with Sturm in Germany is probably better than any individual win on GGG's record so far.

The following guys have beat opponents that were top 30 at the time they were fought:

Chavez Jr has Zbik, Rubio, and Lee
Geale has Sturm, Sylvester, and Adama
          Quillin has N'Dam, McEwan
Macklin has Sturm (unoffficial), Varon, Asikainen, Alcine (had just beat Lemieux)
          N'Dam has Bursak, Khurtsidze, Lorenzo
Sturm has many top 30 opponents on his resume
Too bad he didnt beat a washed up sturm in a fight most thought Sturm deserved to win. Golovkin is a better opponent the Murray, any possible way you put it. Its hilarious how you're trying to argue that Murray is better in any way

Thats a great list of Golovkins duckers and their wins, yet

it took him 20 rounds to defeat kerry hope. one of martinez's lesser opponents of recent years, darren barker, beat him in 5 coming off a long layoff and injury.

Like you said the draw against Sturm, you know the middle weight title holder when Murray fought him?

Not so different from the way 3G obtained his high MW ranking by beating a barely top 10 ranked Proksa (if he was even ranked in the top 10), a #10 ranked lmw moving up, and a 37 year old career lmw journeyman coming off of two straight losses contemplating retirement pre-fight.

I do see the comparison although I would rather error on the side of Martinez' opponent than Golovkins' because at least he is a mw who has ben fighting mw's. I guess any of the other 15 top 25 mw's had excuses not to face him and you could provide that evidence which should be readily available.

Lol, other than Chavez every guy on that list has declined a fight with GGG. As did Murray, according to Hearn

and so is Murray yet you already claimed he wasn't and tried to discredit his ranking.

                      Sturm was #2

Williams had only fought an old unranked Winky 3 years removed from a win at MW at MW before the Sergio fight, yet he was #2?
