I mean who gives a rat's ass if they are scared? Does that mean he sits on the sidelines and watches his opportunities and best years waste away? Heck no, it means he decides what is best for his own career and considering he has already beaten some of the best guys at 168, why not make a move and take the gusto? People want to talk like the entire 160 pound division is terrified of him because they stand absolutely no chance against him, yet the mention of a move to 168 scares them....I might be missing something.
If they are scared and dont fight him, how can you expect him to fight them?

Its funny how the hater's best argument for the MWs ducking Golovkin is Golovkn should move up. You guys dont even expect these ducker to fight GOlovkin, you actually approve of it.

He just got promoted to full champ like 3 months ago, and finally got HBO onboard. They are willing to take fights above 160. He apparently wants Hopkins at 175. But he wants to keep his belt at 160, which only makes sense, especially if he's willing to drop to 154 for a big fight

Yet here he is at #10, I guess he got gifted the #10 spot because he is lucky or something, at least he has been fighting MW's. The embolden are top 10 guys that Sergio has fought or is lined up to fight, how many of these guys has 3G fought?

He got it gifted because he had a draw against Sturm. Name a top 30 fighter he has beat, ill wait

          • I'm not surprised, but the hate is almost nonexistent for GGG himself, but mostly some of his more over the top fans wanting to crown him king so early. Count me as a fan though. Dude is a killer so far. But time will tell.

I applaud him for realiziing that fights won't just "drop" into his lap and that sometimes when you are "too good", a move may be required to make things happen. I don't want to see the guy "fail", just the opposite in fact. A few others feel that a suggestion like this is an attempt to set the guy up for failure when he has already shown the ability to succeed at a higher weight class. I admit, he inspires fear in people, he is a very, very strong guy but that does not mean that an excuse needs to be made as to why he can't secure a big fight when there is a very accessible avenue available that has yet to even be explored.

No need to wait, name me a top 10 fighter that Golovkin has faced.....Proksa? Was he top 10 even? While we are on that, let's not forget Williams' ranking at MW when Martinez fought him, dude moved up and was gifted a top 5 ranking, so I'm counting that as well as Pavlik's #1 ranking. That adds two more to the list for martinez, how many do we have so far for God of War?

I won't be waiting so no need to reply. I know you will though and I'll enjoy the reply all the same.

Props for the honesty. Some of your stuff came off as trolling, him trouncing these SMWs and such. I'm a fan obviously, and even I wouldn't favor him over the top 3 guys. But I'd give him a good chance against most of the rest, hope it happens.

Apparently they are willing to take fights above 160 on a one off basis, which is all you can ask for. There have been discussions with Tommy O and Edwin Rodriguez, remember? And he wants BHop at full 175 AFAIK, no CW.

You do wanna see him fail so you can say "And this is the guy they wanted Sergio to fight". No opportunities will fall into his lap? He's not trying to fight mayweather, he's trying to fight guys like Quillin, Macklin and Gaele but cant even get these guys to stop ****ting their pants

A move is required and that would be a reattachment of the fighters nuts at 160, because they obviously have none.

Name a top 30 fighter Golovkin has beat outside of Proksa, I'll wait.

Murray's resume is about as thin as Golovkin's, but Sturm was not only a better opponent than any GGG has faced, but his draw with Sturm in Germany is probably better than any individual win on GGG's record so far.

The following guys have beat opponents that were top 30 at the time they were fought:

Chavez Jr has Zbik, Rubio, and Lee
Geale has Sturm, Sylvester, and Adama
                      Quillin has N'Dam, McEwan
Macklin has Sturm (unoffficial), Varon, Asikainen, Alcine (had just beat Lemieux)
                      N'Dam has Bursak, Khurtsidze, Lorenzo
Sturm has many top 30 opponents on his resume
