Apparently the gun was for a photo op. They thought they could check in a unloaded gun at luggage before boarding the plane like you can in other states. Obviously didn't know the strict NY gun laws.

yeah, but I dropped out of Law School in year two. I like learning about law, but I realized that I just don't want to study it. So I'm finishing up my MBA. Its more practical and cheaper overall

Obviously you obey the laws by not carrying a gun to an airport.

You can bring guns to the airport. But once you get there you report it and they pack it in a plastic box then load it up on to the plane (not as a carry on). Apparently you can't do that in NY if you're from outta state.
