Actually I won't choose any version of Holyfiled to beat this version of Wlad.
I can't pick a guy with no inside game to beat the Holyfield from Bowe fights or Tyson fights.

Holyfield was an inside fighting expert, and would end up there at some point.

That's the top 10 wins of the two ranked imo

You could move some of Lewis' around, but Wlads are pretty much concrete

        It's really not close
I would have Tyson as #10 ahead of Peter.

I don't underrate holyfiled at all. Actually I pick him to possibly be the most skillful HW overall ever in the recent thread!

It's about match-up. I don't think Holyfiled style is the best one to go against Wlad. I would choose prime Tyson to have a way better chance of beating Wlad.

Well if you look at the people who beat Wlad they are more or less the same size as Holyfield. Only any version of holyfield pre 2002 would own any version the guys that beat Wlad.

As Earl said, Holyfield was a great inside fighter, just look at what he did to Tyson and to some extent Lewis in their first match-up (early rounds 3,4).

Add to that he's as tough as old boots. I would give him a decent shot at it. Maybe the size difference would be too big, but i'd give him a shot.

              Here is the problem

The way Wlad wins fights is to keep people outside on the end of a jab, slowly break them down before dropping them with a right hand late on.

              He's fantastic at that.

Evander was an expert at working his way inside, he figures out the timing of the jab, slips in, and barrages you with hooks uppercuts and headbutts inside.

Evander also has an iron chin and is fast.

If Wlad couldnt badly hurt Haye, then he has no chance of doing it vs Evander

and Evander is like Haye on steroids but about 10X better boxer, WITH one of the best inside games in the history of heavyweight boxing and a granite chin.

Nice list but I beg to disagree.

                1. Vitali (LL)
                2. Byrd (WK)
                3. Haye (WK)

                10. Ibragimov (WK)

Of course taking into account when they fought them...

It's close I pick Wladimir because I'm a Fan of him. I think it's very possible he surpasses Lewis.

Wladimir is definitely one of the most dominant heavyweights in Boxing history.

i made the video posted earlier in the thread, which pretty much covers the course of his boozerweight career, so that would be another wrongheaded assumption.

he's limited as hell, just another crappy ambush style that has only worked so well because of the limited comp he's faced. keep distance and look to surprise with bombs that leave him wildly off balance when he doesn't land. he hasn't displayed many more effectual facets to his game than that.

your criticisms of the current HW division apply to Haye as much as anyone. a better generation of HW's would rip apart his flaws and limitations.

I have stated many times that wlad is an ATG, not top 10, but ATG and I have a lot of respect for him. I just don't like his style of fighting, it bores me. But if its good for you, then good for you.
we're talking about your inflated regard for Haye. that much you have made apparent.

i don't think there are many winning performances from Wladimir that i've bothered to watch more than once since Mercer. but you, on the other hand, just spent months fighting the corner of a fighter who you finally admit is a "fraud". your avatar and user-title are plastered with the fraud's image and alias.
