This could also potentially mean that Broner could be on the Floyd vs Guererro undercard which would be huge for Showtime.

HBO has about 10 million more subscribers than showtime and it would be 15 million if it wasn't for Homeland. Besides Saul Alvarez most of these Haymon/GBP fighters have no loyal fan bases people just watched them cause they were on HBO(and usually want to see them lose). TR fighters have much more loyal fan bases. TR/HBO/Tecate/TV Azteca are the winner here especially since Showtime will have to deal with Floyd ducking Alvarez for the next couple years

Big big mistake by Hershman, and will likely lead to his dismissal. When you compare the rosters of GBP vs. TR, its a no contest. Sure, he doesnt need to buy EVERY fight, but to publicly say you are going to cut yourself off from the GBP roster is just ignorant. He's basically saying "hey I have no interest in showing Saul Alvarez, or Angulo, or Broner, or K9, or Danny Garcia, or Robert Guerrero, or Khan, or Maidana, or Mares, or Matthysse, or Ortiz, or Quillin, or Santa Cruz, or upcoming guys like Thurman, Jermell Charlo, or Omar Figueroa"Last edited by OnePunch; 03-18-2013, 01:50 PM.

It was never mentioned as a one-time deal. The only reason they went back to HBO was because the PPV didn't reach the critical mass Arum was hoping for with exposure on CBS. They didn't go back to HBO 'out of loyalty.'

Business is business, so if this is done out of spite that right there is a mistake. In business you are suppose to do stuff that benefits you, damaging a rival is one thing but GBP is not really a rival~ they are a provider of programming (or talent).
This is straight up cutting off your nose to spite your face, which is never a good way to run a business. It makes me question the future of boxing on HBO.

Having said that HBO has still left the door open they've just said they wouldn't be working with GB for the 'foreseeable future' so it's open to interpretation.
I don't know if this is strictly Hershmans decision or not, but it doesn't help boxing at all.
