"I do everything average" Tim Bradley

You got to be kidding me, and you even added Wlad who's fighting in that weak division. Bradley would have never ate the kind of punches Donaire ate against Vazuqez Jr or Mathebula, however you spell his name. Martinez gets hit, Barker, Macklin, Paul Williams, his defense is no where near as good as Bradley's, Marquez? That's laughable.
Come on now....

Still getting out of position can be a big issue, some guys can't take advantage of such thing or have a very difficult time so it comes down to opposition.
To me that is Bradley's upper limit, he can be good even beat really good fighters who can't figure out how to exploit that, but guys who can Bradley will have real issues with even lesser guys.
Everyone can get wild at times, and sometimes getting wide is required to open a guy up but while Ward may at times do that also, Bradley is a habitual offender.Comment

I agree except for what others have stated in terms of his intangibles and his IQ. I really think you are slighting him on his defense though....he doesn't get hit often at all. The stats from the Pac fight were bogus as hell, slow-mo or not, Bradley blocked 60% of Pac's punches.
He is like B+ in almost every category and A, A+ in one or two.....he is ar from average. Average would be like gate-keeper status which Tim is clearly not.Comment

I'm not hating on Tim
I like the guy. There are days I'll watch an interview of his and I'll feel like a fan of his.
I'm not a fan of his, I won't pretend I am. But I certainly don't dislike the guy, I do like him. I just don't think he's that good.
I don't know, Bradley has more to his game than Wlad but I'd say Wlad get's hit less than Bradley does.Comment

Perhaps, perhaps not, but considering the competition he's been in there with and how few/ if any have been able to capitalize on it, I doubt it's gonna be a problem in the future. He has a very unorthodox way of defending, looks weird to us since we're not used to seeing it but to me that stuff looks natural to him.Still getting out of position can be a big issue, some guys can't take advantage of such thing or have a very difficult time so it comes down to opposition.

I don't think you're trolling by I don't understand why Bradley himself would consider himself to not be exceptional in any area yet some people seem to think he's amazing in every department. I simply don't see it at all. His defense is dead average from what I see.
You say these guys get's hit, Bradley get's hit, Bradley isn't some defensive wizard who lowers his opponents connect ratio to 20% . I don't think Donaire would get hit by a fighter on Junior Witter's level as often as Bradley did in the first 6 rounds of that fight nor do I think Kendall Holt would put him on his back. Not that that makes him better but just to use the same reasoning.
I think Marquez absolutely has a better defense than Bradley. Using their common fight(s) with Pacquaio as an example would suggest that. But even without that Marquez definitely has a better defense than Bradley IMO.Comment

I agree his intagibles are very good (Conditioning, heart, will to win, desire etc) I don't agree on Ring IQ but that is one of his better attributes. He's good at dictating a fight and adjusting I.e Peterson, Witter are the best cases of that.I agree except for what others have stated in terms of his intangibles and his IQ. I really think you are slighting him on his defense though....he doesn't get hit often at all. The stats from the Pac fight were bogus as hell, slow-mo or not, Bradley blocked 60% of Pac's punches.

I don't know, maybe but I just don't see what you guys see. I'm not saying he's poor defensively, not at all. I just don't think he's overly good.
Again, I'm not saying Bradley is average. I don't consider him average and have never said he's average.
Difference between you and I is you think Bradley is B+ in every area and A+ in one or two whereas I think he's a C in every area and A+ in one or two.
According to Bradley's words, he thinks the same.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 03-15-2013, 07:13 PM.Comment
