Nevermind that Roy had begun his ridiculously dominant reign at light heavy at this point as well.
You can have Jones ahead that is totally fair.

It is however a more fun debate if you actually look at things closely rather than go "LOLZ Toney and B-Hopz Jonez RULEZ!"

No matter what they are good wins it is a matter of how good, which is pretty much always a fair debate.

with that logic Torrecampo Clinton Mitchell and Jose Luis Ramirez will have HOF resume because they beat future ATG's before they were champions

people also forget corrales was 3 p4p when floyd stopped him.
Corrales was #5 P4P and probably way overrated at the time (not that it wasn't a good win), he also had a soft chin and I honestly can't tell you what his best pre-Mayweather win was (Manfredy?).

Toney was a two division champion and #2 P4P

I think Floyd had the overall more impressive run. Roy was close, but I agree that his most impressive win, Toney, was not a prime Toney. Toney looked to be on a downhill slide from his prime at that point didn't look in particularly good shape at all. Beating Bhop is very impressive but Bhop didn't have his wealth of experience yet to negate Roy's raw athleticism. Still, a win over Bhop nearly propels him over Floyd, but not quite.

I think people are hyped up still about him beating Cloud, but let's not get too carried away.

              before 30 -

              Roy
              Ward
              Mayweather
              (Hopkins)

Floyd a great fighter but the cherrypicking weighed versus Ward's anti-cherrypicking yields SOG the upper hand.

i'm not knocking toney at all, i have no idea why you quoted me. i was merely stating that both both corrales and toney were top 5 p4p fighters who some say had weight issues and were dominated in one of there biggest fights.

although toney's a atg and corrales will be lucky to make it to the hof the two fights are comparable.

                    Mayweather
                    Ward

In that order and it's not arguable.

Roy wasn't in his prime either, even then, that version of Hopkins would clean the house at 160 today.
