If that is the case isn't that a bit of a redundant nickname? It's a bit like having the nickname "Person" or "Human".

I think you're wrong in this case. The nickname is referring to A - his deep rooted belief in religion & B - he's more talented than most so obviously one of the many deities in 'existence' has 'blessed' him with this special talent. Hence "Son of God".

Either that or he was a Carpenter in the Middle East before turning his hand to boxing.
His nickname reflects his belief in christianity, where we are all "children of god"(well only those that have embraced the christian god). The nickname has context to it. Nate Campbells name was "the galaxii warrior but that doesnt mean he travels the galaxy.

At least you know. Seems people need to bone up more on that bible study.

      Galatians 3: 26-29

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither *** nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

It's hard to miss any of Floyd's interview routines as he's been saying the same damn things for as long as anyone can remember.

I love how hard he finds it to ever say anything good about anyone. He says he doesn't have anything bad to say about Ward, and then goes on to say "He's got a gold medal? Let me get it and I'll melt it down and get a medallion made."

It's like how'd you'd expect a child to act. I sometimes wonder just how bad this guy's childhood was that as a grown man, and a really successful one, he's so still so desperately insecure he can't bring himself to say something positive about other people.

You can almost tell by reading this that Floyd is crying on the inside.

Poor little Andre is a better fighter than him and will fight anyone and now Floyd is uncomfortable.

Floyd ducked the hottest fighters in the hottest division.......Ward saw the challenges and made 168 his personal toilet.

Floyd "I'll never fight Paul Williams....he's too goofy"

We also know his million and one excuses not to fight guys like Margarito and Pacquaio.....but to be honest the most disturbing was the excuses not to fight PWilliams.

FWIW, you would never hear Andre make an excuse not to fight someone. He is a real fighter, a true throwback and what the sport of boxing needs. That bothers Floyd and you can see that in this interview.

Floyd did call him early in super 6 while in dressing room giving him advise wishing him luck I think it was Kessler fight if I'm not mistaken plus him and Dirrell were always on Floyd and Roy ****

I don't think Floyd said anything bad told the truth really about him fighting exclusively in Oakland and being known only by Hardcore boxing fans I will add to it the ***** move of draining Dawson and being the only super 6 contestant to not fight outside of home
