I think Marquez has more right to the No.2 spot than Mayweather to be honest. He just beat Manny Pacquiao (PFP 1 or 2) basically twice, fights twice a year and has won fights at two different weights at a neutral venue away from home.

By contrast Floyd beat Ortiz (not even P4P top 5), Cotto (not even PFP Top 5) at two different weights but fights only once a year in his backyard.

You can point to the fight between them but it was the equivalent of Floyd fighting Martinez at 160lbs with no tune-up, no one would expect him to win either.

I just wish Ward would have put in a bit more work since the Super Six, it would be way easier to have him at 1.

        But I don't think he's done much recently to suggest he's a clear #1.

Not his fault that he's only had one fight in 2012 but it was his fault it was a poor opponent.

Fact remains, his last legit win was in 2011.
Yeah it's clear he's running out of opponents, he even suggested Hopkins. It's looking bad for Ward right now, as the Hopkins fight may or may not happen or he's stuck fighting a recycled opponent, one he already dominated. Look, Marquez did his thing against Pacquiao but he's been inconsistent with his choice of opposition, Fenchenko, Ramos, and I honestly don't see how I can put him on top of Floyd when Floyd completely dominated him. Dawson, that was still a respectable opponent who many were split on, it's solid nothing more or less

Throughout the entirety of 2009-2011 I had Manny Pacquaio as P4P #1.

I have no argument with someone having Ward or Marquez as P4P #1 right now either.

I was merely questioning a statement I have yet to see.
Due to his Reluctance to fight the Best, FRAUD might deserve Honorary Mention!!!

Yeah it's like he's severely depressed or has a rather large chip on his shoulder about something. Maybe he's deeply insecure about something?

I get it man, twice a year like

Ramos then Pacquiao, then Fedchenko and Pacquiao again, you know what that equates to? Absolutely nothing.

People were split before the fact, IF Dawson could make the weight.

Once it was clear he was a corpse and obviously drained, not so much.

I don't think Ward deserves credit for that win, personally. I mean, Dawson was clearly quite severely drained.

Solid for me is his win over Bika, or Green. I don't consider his win over Dawson solid.

I didn't see that from the weigh in, and I agree that Dawson wasn't anywhere near 100%, but then again I've seen Dawson look like shit at 175. Green? Come on now

He didn't look too bad at the weigh in, was hard to tell.

When he came to the ring, what's important, he was clearly drained and badly drained at that. He was a dead man in there.

I don't consider the Green win good at all just a solid win against a decent fighter. Just about solid really. Certainly better than Dawson. But Bika was a better example of a solid win for Ward.
