    hmm

I've seen the fight but it was loud, at Hooter's, and I wasn't paying great attention. However, the body shot did look legit to me, and given Oscar's physical condition and training for the fight, I seriously doubt he and Bernard conspired to throw the fight. Maybe Oscar felt if he would have continued, he would have been stopped, but I really doubt he threw the fight for any reason other than he was hurt and though it was pointless anyway.

As for Oscar fighting Floyd...let me put it like this. If Oscar attacks Floyd, he will land, and under that scenario Floyd has about a 10% chance of winning.

In addition, Floyd has a snowball's chance in hell of hurting Oscar.

When I made my thread I said the exact same thing. They had a promotional deal like a week after that fight and they were all buddy buddy. The if you watched the fight Hopkins was fighting bad and it was like he wasnt even trying to hit Oscar. I said that they probally had a deal where they would try to make it look like Oscar was winning and then X starts coming on and KO's him. He couldnt do it with a head shot because it would be to hard to fake and it had to be a KO so X would get his respect plus they knew that it would be hard to fake for 12 rounds and be a very boring fight. Everyone was wondering why would X try to box with Oscar. Any other time he wouldve rushed right at Oscar and try to rough him up. It wouldnt be hard for 2 experienced guys to fake it and get away with it and do you think people havent thrown fights before?

I dont know if it was a fix or not but that wasnt a hard looking body shot like some others have landed and the way he stayed down looked fake. He was all beating the canvas and then he got up after 10. If your really hurt, you dont beat on the canvas. Virgil Hill was rolling around and Dorin couldnt even move.

I dont think it was a fix but I honestly wouldnt be surprised if it was. First they tried to act like they hated eachother. They were talking all kind of ****. Oscar said that he had never wanted to beat a guy so bad. Then after a week you have a promotional deal with him and you guys are sitting beside eachother at all the events and smiling.
I don't remember if Dorin beat the count, but Hill beat the count. So much for his promonitional deal with Roy. Please.

Hill didnt beat the count. He stayed down for a long time. Roy broke his rib. He was rolling around on the ground in pain. I dont even think the ref finished the count, he was so badly hurt

I dont think the fight was fixed. When hopkins fights he always starts out slow, and turns it on halfway through the fight. As far as what happened after the fight between the two, lets face it, they are just trying to make some money. Just because they fought each other in a boxing match doesnt mean they hate each other. Anyways Hopkins was pretty happy that he even got to fight DLH because it would be a big payday. Smart move by Hopkins to ally himself with DLH, its where the money is at.

Have you seen the fight? He was on feet looking at the ref, holding his ribs by the count of 9.

You know at first I was like that was just a good shot. Just yesterday I was watching the fight again and I don't know now. I have it recorded and I watch it all the time. It does look like a weak body shot and he didn't even attempt to get up. Yeah I think it was a fix. Oh well dlh is still my boxer!

Like it or not peeps but that makes a lot of sense. And with or without stories like that, I really felt right from the start that DLH's KO lost was really questionable.

I have watched that fight more than 8 times and I honestly doubt it.

if u look at the replay , it looks real weak but if u look at the live full speed the blow looks hard. Look at the real full speed version where the camera is directly behind Hopkins, Look how he even pulls back some and he brings al his body into the punch u can even hear the impact of the punch when it connects. Also it took Oscar a couple of seconds like many other body shots (the late reaction thing)

Mayweather's career plan: Floy is going to do a Roy

Have a read of this (apologies for linking to another site): http://www.**********.com/pag/article6448.html

Floyd's career trajectory according to this is Zab (P4P dangerou... oh, wait...), Oscar De La Hoya ("I'm an old man, so I'll pretend you got me on my liver as well, Amigo!" - career defining) and Winky Wright (That will NEVER happen).

What will happen is that people will then talk about Floyd being a "Future Hall of Famer" and how he "won titles at multiple divisions".

I give the guy credit - unlike the Slop (who ruled over a period of middleweight nobodies and had his "career defining" fights over two little guys who moved up out of their natural weight class) Floyd HAS got talent. He doesn't rely on low output and headbutting to earn his "P4P, HOF" bull**** credentials.

But if this is the route he's planning to take he'll have wasted all his talent becoming a paper champion, taking the easiest way through 140 (Cotto, Harris, Hatton, Gatti? Hmmmmmmmm....) and being lauded for showing superlative ringcraft... against a (largely) diet of tin cans.

                    What a waste.
