The fight would be very interesting and with Oscar moving back to 147 looks like there is a good chance of it happening late this or next year (cause we all know Mayweather wont be fighting Gatti anytime soon).
I also agree that there is stong evidence that the fight was fixed. Why would Hopkins try to box Delahoya, i know Hop likes to Box but with his size advantage i would have expected him to come out and go straight for Oscar. The knockout looks dubious as well, shades of Ali Liston II.

Get hit on the liver even slightly grazed and see how you feel. It wasnt perfect but effective. Bernard hit Oscar with a shot up top and De la hoya dropped his guard and guarded his face and Hopkins came in with a swinging left hook to the opening of Oscars body. Oscar didnt see it, he may have dramatically over acted the aftermath but that shot would hurt anybody...A little tap would bring the breath out of anyone.

On a side note, Mayweather kills Oscar De la hoya...De la hoya isnt even in his prime anymore although a prime DLH slaughters him.....Oscar is finished.

Floyd Mayweather is fortunate as a fighter:

for these reasons.

1.) He has a recognized family name in Boxing.
2.) He has as much skill as any fighter in Boxing, which came with years of hard training.

He feels, IMO these reasons coalesced with his professional record enable him to pick and choose among the top fighters.

In a general sense, and I do not mean to downgrade Gatti; He is just on a level lower than Floyd. Fighting Gatti would prove useless in the scheme of boxing, considering if he did beat Gatti, people would still not give him credit for that win. They would say "oh...Gatti is a punchingbag" etc, "Wait untill he fights a real boxer puncher" blah.

That is why he is gunning for DLH. An excellent Boxer puncher, who can bring fans into their seats...

and ultimately fill PBF's already fat pockets.

i thought it was fixed also, but then i saw the punch in full speed and it looked vicious. If you look at the replay where the shot landed it looked weak. But if u look at the angle where B-Hop has his back towards us, u see the velocity of the punch

I agree that that fight was a bit fishy. Oscar was doing fine untill that body shot. However that shot looked legit and will definetly take the air out of any fighter. It was getting late into the fight, especially then. Hopkins wasnt doing that bad either, he usually starts out slow and picks up in the late rounds, and thats exactly what he did today. The question is could Oscar of have gotten up from that body shot, I think he could have but dind't want to. If he did he would probably have been knocked out anyway. If it was fixed Oscar woulden't have reported and made such a fuss before the fight that he took some (il)legal injections before the fight.

You are probably right. All I am saying, is that a fight with DLH would be one of the toughest fights Mayweather will EVER fight if it happens, and Mayweather wants this fight.

I do not see why everyone says he "ducks and dodges" potential matchups. That is absolutely ridiculous.
