Yeah, that impressed me too (I like the fact that he feinted with the right before doing it, too... the guy's got underrated skills). I've never really enjoyed watching him because it's like watching a mugging it's so one-sided and he usually maims people after he's fought them. But his ability to carry that up to world level has made me begin to change my mind. -
When he beat Ruiz he was the new Ray Robinson. When he lost, "he was never great." That type of stuff makes me sick to my stomach.Originally posted by AnorakWhat about if you're both at the same time? I like the guy, but there's no way I'd say his career was great when his "career defining" moment came against John Ruiz.Comment

hmm
Roy's career was great, but not just because of John Ruiz. It's also because of the other notable pros on his resume which includes a who's who list of current and former champs. The main reason why he is a great is because of the way he beat people. Masterclass.Comment

What about "he could have been great, but never fully achieved it in the ring?"Originally posted by IRON TRUTHWhen he beat Ruiz he was the new Ray Robinson. When he lost, "he was never great." That type of stuff makes me sick to my stomach.
A kind of halfway house between the two viewpoints?Comment
