UH...how about the fact that all of the top fighters at 140 are Booked Up and already have fights coming up? How about the fact that GBP have already setup a 140 sort of Tournament in which the Winner of Peterson vs Matthysse will fight the winner of Danny Garcia vs Zab Judah and Khan already has a fight set

Rios is fighting Alvarado again (Both with Top Rank so a fight with Broner is not going to happen anyway!)

So where exactly does Broner fit in at 140 at the moment? He should move up to 140 and fight WHO for his debut at 140 right now?

I have no problem with him facing Malignaggi, the dude is 23 years old, why are fans trying to rush this guy career along like he is running out of time or something, the dude is basically just getting started in his career, not even at his Peak as a fighter yet

He will get to all those fighters eventually, most of them are still young as well so all of these guys will end up running into each other eventually...If Boxing gave us all these matches NOW...WTF will we have in the future once Mayweather and Pacquiao are gone?

If the ****** a$$ fans ran boxing we would be out of quality matches in a year because you dumb a$$es would be doing all Big Matches and nothing in between

I don't exactly like this match up.. But I am happy to see him splash into 147. 140-154 there are SO many awesome fights that could happen for him. Makes sense to me that he would start out with a guy who can't bust a g**** and try to look awesome against him.

These two rubes from the hood, satisfy their egos by safe trips to the bank and collecting belts. These days, with all the multiple organizations, there's 4 or 5 champions in each division, so easy to collect a belt from some so-called champion, who really didn't have to beat anyone to gain a belt. That's not credible. Broner & Mayweather will never be considered Legends, because they never sought out the Best Of The Best while in their primes. SERIOUSLY??? Broner wants to fight Mags? Mags beat WHO for a belt? Broner could have fought Gamboa. Could have fought Rios, Maidana, Garcia, Matthysse, Marquez... he wanted to fight Mags.... LOL. Next he'll want to fight Vinnie Pazienza.

You act like being at 147 is some kind of safe haven from guys at 140. News flash: Fighters from 140 move up to 147 all the time. A lot of these fights will eventually happen. I guess you haven't watched boxing very long.

Pac moved up to fight bigger guys than himself who weren't considered to be the weakest in the division. Guerrero is fighting the P4P #1 guy in the sport.

Broner is a bigger guy fighting smaller guys moving up to fight a guy that he probably still bigger than who is the weakest titleholder at 147 and known as a "pillow puncher"

It appears a fight with Adrien "The Problem" Broner (26-0, 22KOs) and Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7KOs) will indeed be taking place in June at the welterweight limit as Broner himself broke the news earlier tonight.

Broner was on hand at the Argenis Mendez-Juan Carlos Salgado fight card in Costa Mesa and was brought into the ring for the live crowd. When he took the mic he informed everyone in attendance that he would be making a move up to welterweight for his next fight and Malignaggi would be his opponent.
