This is a better fight than Burns or Vasquez so props for that. Though hopefully it's just 1 fight at 147 and afterwards he moves down to 140. It will be one of the biggest mass ducks in history if he bypasses the whole 140 division which is one of the best in boxing right now, and i'm a fan of Broner btw.

No it's not. Broner v Burns is what everyone wants to see. Nobody cares about him fighting Malignaggi who can't punch his way through a wet paper towel.

He's fighting the best known opponents - that is the way.

That's how Mayweather got popular, by fighting Gatti, De La Hoya and Hatton.

What would be really ****** on Broner's part business-wise would be to fight a virtual unknown (to casuals) in Lucas Matthysse and get beat.

Hmm, i'm not sure I would compare a 43-0 Ricky Hatton or a 10 time world champion to Malignaggi. But that's just me. He should stay at '35 and take care of business and move up and fight some of the champions at 140, Khan/Peterson/Garcia/Mathysse and then move up and fight some of the actual threats at WW. Otherwise he will be getting the exact same hate as Mayweather is getting.

Maybe I am easy to please, but I think this is an interesting fight. Malignaggi is not a big puncher, but he is quick as hell and difficult to hit and dominate. With him having a size advantage over Broner, Broner will not get rid of Malignaggi as easily as he has some of his previous opponents.

If it goes to the cards, there is a chance the nod could go to Malignaggi, who is a popular fighter, and who has received some questionable and favorable decisions.

Plus the pre-fight trash talk should be very entertaining.

You do realize he's fighting the weakest guy right? They could fight at HW and Broner would still win. So moving to 147 and fighting Paulie means ****. Now if he moved to 147 and fought Alexander people wouldn't be talking ****.
