    Peterson-Matthysse winner.....

Assuming this fight goes down, and I hope it does....would you mind seeing the winner of this fight get a showdown with Floyd later in the year???

I think by now we know Floyd-Canelo probably isn't happening this year, and we don't know if Canelo will even beat Trout. It's really a toss up fight.

But I don't see any possible fight for late 2013 for Floyd other than the winner of this, or maybe the Brook/Alexander winner.

If Matthysse were to win, he would have wins over Peterson and Ajose, and should have a win over Alexander, and a close arguable win/loss against Judah. And if Peterson were to win, he would have wins over Khan and Matthysse, and an arguable win/loss against Ortiz.

If Floyd stays active, a big IF, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him take on the winner of this fight in the fall.

Presuming Lucas gets past Peterson which I haven't any major doubt he won't I'd like him to have a tune up at 147 first then I'd be all for it.

All assuming Floyd also gets past Guerrero too.

I'd like to see Matthysse beat someone else after beating Peterson first.

Did you feel the same about Pacquiao-Bradley, I mean Bradley was hardly a 147 fighter. His only fight there was Abregu. But I mean since Bradley was a top dog at 140, I had no problem with it.

The winner of Peterson-Matthysse will be top dog at 140, along with Garcia, if he beats Judah.

I genuinely feel Lucas would put it the fu.ck on Floyd like nobody else has in a long time and he wouldn't give him room to breathe.

Lucas applies intelligent pressure, he is one of the very best in the game at cutting a ring off. Hes got a granite chin and huge power in both hands.
              His body punching is lethal.

I think stylistically hes the guy to give Floyd the biggest problems. Not Lara with no inside game, not slow-footed Canelo.

That said I don't feel for one minute he'll have it easy with Guerrero.

I would love to see this presuming they both pull through their next fight and ideally I'd like Lucas to test the waters at 147 first but I'd still have no real problem with it as a first fight at welter.

I agree. I still doubt it happens though. I do think Floyd, if he gets passed Guerrero with no injuries or anything, will be looking at both fights in May 18th.

What if Peterson pulls off another upset??? I favor Matthysse 60-40/65-35 in this fight though.

I think Mattysse will beat Peterson. I think he should move up to 147 after that and make some noise there to get a fight with Floyd. Heck, all he has to do is beat Berto. lmao Who knows, he may be the first one to knock Mayweather out.

Yeah I doubt it happens but its intriguing the hell out of me now you've mentioned it.

Petersons a good fighter, personally I can not see him beating Lucas. If he did beat Lucas then I'd be cool with that fight too but Lucas vs Floyd is the fight that I like better and I think even if he losses to Peterson he'd give Floyd a much tougher test style-wise.
