Did you get on Manny for fighting past prime and coming off losses versions of Margarito or Mosley, or how about Marquez 3 when the only time Juan had been at that weight he was shut out, or how about David Diaz, when Casamayor and Campbell were there at 135 for him to fight.

I doubt it....you probably said something along the lines of....he dared to be great.

The kid is 23 years old, and there's no reason if he comes in light that he can't go down to 140 after this, or that he'll face those 140 guys in the future anyway.

I'd rather see Broner stay at 135 for another fight or two though, and would rather see Paulie fight Thurman or Ortiz.

    At least keep it 100.
David Diaz beat Morales, who Garcia gets massive credit over, at a better weight and half a decade younger. Diaz also beat Santa Cruz who embarrassed Casamayor just 1 year before he should have beat Casamayor. As weak of a fighter people make him out to be, he was 100X better then Paulie is right now

All those opponents are way better then a Paulie fight so should be belt less and nowhere near being ranked after Cano beat his ass

And mind you....this was when Manny was at his absolute biggest in the sport, and he opted to fight those fights.

Broner is 23 years old. And like I said in the previous post, there's no reason he won't end up fighting those 140 guys later on or can't go down to 140 after this fight if he comes in light.

yup. i guess everybody was right about you.

        Please, no.

Why jump from 135 to 147?

Only way I'd be happy with this fight is if he moves down to 140 straight after.

I'd rather see him fight Burns than Malignaggi.

I don't really like Broner-Paulie right now, especially because I'd rather see Broner fight guys at 135-140 still.

But I mean, it's like one set of rules for one guy and another set for another guy. And the other guy should be held to higher standards than a 23 year old fighter right now.

I remember wanting to see Manny fight Casamayor or Campbell when eharing he was going to 135. Maybe that's just me. And Manny fighting Margarito and Shane when he did, given he was the biggest fighter in the world along with Floyd at the time, is much worse than a 23 year old fighter who's still coming up in the sport right now.

They will all have beat each other and will all have loses, so that means they are all not as good as they once were. Makes perfect sense.

Yeah, because young fighters don't learn anything. They stay the same and gaining experience means nothing. Makes perfect sense. Wlad Klitschko is no better now than he was when he fought Sanders and Brewster. I think I'm starting to see the light.

Casamayor was flattened by Santa Cruz, he then barely beat Katsidis and lost to JMM. He was on a deep decline at that point, but with Cambell i agree. Diaz wasnt the top guy but he was a top guy at 135 during his prime. Paulie is washed up, not a top WW and just lost to Cano

I dont care about age, its not a reason to take horrific fights. If you want to do that, go ahead but with no belts and dont call yourself a top fighter

Broner has work to do at 135 before he can even consider fights a higher weights. This is what annoys me. Talented fighters not cleaning up their respected divisions and proving themselves to be the best. Look at the fights Broner has. Vazquez and Burns who are both respected champions. Abril has made a name for himself after the Rios robbery as well. Unify the belts Adrian and not worry about being multiweight champion straight away

You really think Rios learned anything from the Abril fight? Did Margarito change the way he ever fought? Have you seen any changes in Rios' game from fights prior to Abril and afterwards? Didn't think so.
