Is the "smart" move to make especially with a 23 year old kid!! Why do people forget that this kid IS a kid! So he talks big, they all do these days! Should he fight Mayweather at 23 yrs old??? If you say yes your the dumbest management of all time hahahaha!!!! The fighters the managers and promoters don't entertain thoughts that the "fans" do. If they did there'd be "no one to fight" in about 3 years!!! Ray.

Paulie wouldn't make the final bell. He can't punch, his defense is leaky and he has old legs. Broner would beat him up.

Interesting fight. Malignaggi would give Broner movement and would keep the jab in his face all night which Broner doesn't like. And he's very durable too, only been stopped in the late rounds and by TKO not proper KO.

Other than money, I don't get the point. I think Broner should fight at least two more times at 135, then move up. No need to rush him. If he fights at 147, I think its very unlikely he stays there. I think this is a bad move.

BTW, that other thread started by thugggggery was deleted for some reason.

No offense but why complain about a guy going from 135 to 147 to fight an opponent. This is something to be applauded, not criticized.

There is nothing wrong with fighting elite fighters as a champion. If he wants time to grow because he's a 'kid' then he can do it as a regular contender. He has his little strap now needs to earn his stripes. If not, just go away.

At 140, he has Peterson, Kahn, Garcia, Matthyse, Rios

A whole slew of great fights, and if he loses, so what. Go back at it again.

This whole "he's a kid" is ******. He has a freaking world title! That's like saying that the new NFL draftees shouldn't play because they're 23 year old kids. They should just sit on the bench in the playoffs because they're kids, or the NBA should do the same thing.

Oh but its different sports you say? I say so what...you are in the big leagues, so either act like you are in the big leagues or take your ball and go the eff home. This whole coddling thing is perverse. That's why most of these fighters suck now and days, need managers, promoters, advisors and fans to fight their battles for them.

Broner might be the worst champion sitting at the moment. He hasn't faced anyone worth a damn other than DeMarco, which I give him praise for. He got his soft touch with Gavin Rees that was a "look at me I can beat fighters half my size" and now, fight a legit champ

Because its the absolute worse champion there?

Paulie is shot, has no legs and brittle hands. Where is the honor in beating him at this point? Maybe five years ago, or even three. All the aforementioned guys at 140 would beat up Paulie at this point

Why is this fight even accepted?

Because he's skipping the hottest division. Let's put it this way, he's taking the same route as Mayweather when he "retired".

I did say he would wait 140 to die out before moving up but this is equally the same, if he moves up to 147.

You have to look at the style matchup though. I think Paulie would give Broner more problems than somebody like Rios.
