Recently Floyd's opponents have come off impressive wins. Just winning a fight doesn't seem to be enough, you seem to need an impressive win in order for the public to wanna pay to see you face Floyd.

As hardcores we know Ginger is the logical choice, but if he struggles with Trout (a basic unknown to the casuals), a Floyd/Canelo fight loses steam.

I think that's one of the reasons a guarantee wasn't given, Canelo/Trout was Gingers audition on Floyd's card.
Canelo struggling but winning is just not enough, cause to those who witnessed it Floyd would be seen as "cherry picking".

But if Canelo destroys Trout (Mosley/Marg, Victor/Berto, Robert/Berto), it has all the steam it needs.
I doubt Floyd's avoiding Canelo, Canelo has to bring it impressively to convince people to pay to see it.
But if he fizzles, it's a waste in the casuals/majority's eyes.

    What you think?

I think the fight will still be made, unless it is a blatant robbery in Trout Vs Canelo.

Struggling with Trout but winning is a great result. He should struggle with Trout.

      "the casuals" saw Cotto-Trout.
      He's NOT unknown.

Canelo also already have a bigger draw than anyone Floyd can fight.
      Maybe Khan comes close.

Yes because he would be the WBA regular champion and Floyd's mandatory.

If he wins legitimately but it's a tough fight then yes the fihgt should still happen.

But it means people would see "Mayweather only fought Canelo because he went life and death with Trout"

struggling with cotto's big bro and then demanding a figth is why he didn't get a gurantee, struggling but winning with trout is still a great win.

thats my point, a tuff, exciting legit win is cool. But a struggle stinker kills the steam.

                    From complete morons maybe.

Canelo should go life and death with Trout. It's a very even fight. As long as he wins he's a proven fighter.
