Respectfully, I think you're under thinking this. I agree with 99.999% of what you said, but you have to admit, Canelo destroying Trout damn near doubles the hype. But Canelo struggling would hurt sales & the legitimacy of that match up.
We as hardcores lose site sometimes that boxing is a business.

I think canelo simply has to win, but I agree a KO victory would enahnce Canelo.

I disagree. Casual fans can be unaware but they all still know who Floyd is and they all still know who Cotto is. They all saw (what some say on this site is Floyd struggling with Cotto) so once they know that Trout (easily to some here) beat Cotto then a Canelo win will be impressive no matter what. Infact, it could be seen as even more impressive if Canelo does have a tough fight with him

is that why he moved on or was it becasue floyd wouldn't sign to guarantee him a fight? WOuldn't it make sense for floyd not to guarantee someone a fight on showtime since he has an out in the showtime deal?
