no way broner EASILY beats rios, he might win a couple of early rounds but rios pressure will eventually kick in and get the stoppage. rios has been outboxed by acosta, alvarado and peterson and look what happened.
They Fought Today, Rios will KO Broner. Easy Money

I can see Broner landing that uppercut over and over and Rios walking strait into punches over and over. By the 6th round, Rios' face would be a mess and Robert Garcia would be yelling at him telling him you're not doing what we worked on.Comment

I can see rios sneaking looping punches that broner doesnt seem comming. rios put punches together and he doesnt worry inparticular if the land he knows one of the 5 punch combination he throws has to land somewhere hard and I can see him beating broner, he good on the outside too people forget cause he adopted this nothing but inside brawler but before he bacame 100% that he used to work off the jab and hurt you with straight then come in and brawl you up, so he can do it.
I see it how guerrero vs berto went down, or how ortiz vs berto went down.
Broner has already been pushed back and argualby lost versus ponce and qunitero, and rodriquez was putting it on broner and pushed broner back and he him pinned he was jsut too short to land and had a weak chin.Comment

Broner beats the snot out of him. What does Rios even have that Broner don't?
Broner is better in every area. I really can not stress enough how unskilled and utter rubbish Rios is, hes the worst world champion possibly in history.
He went life & death with John Murray, he was getting his doors boxed off by Acosta, lost every round to Abril. If it wasn't for a very lenient ref he'd of been stopped against Ortega.
Broner would stand in the pocket whilst Rios impersonated a windmill for 2 rounds then Broner would warm up and absolutely toy with the guy.
It would be nothing but a brutal, one-sided beating from rounds 2-3 and would become almost painful to watch.Comment

Boxers like Broner don't let guys like Rios beat them. This ain't Meldrick Taylor/Chavez. More like Whitaker/Chavez where Whitaker has power.
Boxers beat sluggers in the biggest fights. Broner won't be some little guy that Rios can over power. Mike Alvarado is a slugger with an ok jab. Rios beats guys like him. Broner is a thinking man's fighter. They always beat the Rios/Margarito types. If they don't, then they weren't good to begin with. Sorry, but it is what it is.Comment

Ricardo Lopez, Sal Sanchez, Dlh, Ruben Olivares, Vincente Saldivar, Miguel Canto are some of the great Mexican boxers who could box and punch if need be. Love watching those guys live and on film to this day.Comment

I don't know,Broner would have to really be more mobile then I've seen him in the past...But at this point I can't call who wins,I wanna lean toward Broner, but I would not count Rios out..Broner is still an unknown imo..As are Alvarez Garcia Matt's Trout etc etc..Comment

oh dear.
he beat the piss out of Murray. i don't even like Murray, but i felt for him that night - that asswhooping he received was painful to watch.
the reason Rios laboured with Murray (relatively speaking) is because he could no longer make the weight and left everything in trying to do so. Rios is a fighter who builds in intensity as rounds pass, but against Murray he stayed on one level the whole fight long because he didn't have it in the tank. against a fighter whose style was made for him, he looked lethargic by contrast to just 5 months previous when he fought Antillon (a better guy than Murray). you could see it in his punches, too, which lacked their usual steam.
as a result, Murray sustained a long, drawn-out pounding (Joe Gallagher should have pulled him out two or three rounds before it was stopped) instead of the merciful early blasting he should have received.
that's not a hindsight view either, btw. i attended that card at MSG, spent fight-week sightseeing away from boxing news and wasn't even informed that Rios had missed the weight. watching the fight from my seat, i couldn't understand why Rios seemed so sluggish with every round and why his punches lacked their usual force. i got my answer when i returned home and did some reading.
even if a person lacks the senses to perceive those missing increments in performance level, they should at least be able to understand and acknowledge that the amount of sweat Rios left in the gym during fight-week (when he should have been tapering off) was bound to result in a significantly diminished performance level in the fight.
Abril's a much better fighter than Murray and a more challenging style (one that would give Rios issues in any case), so he was more equipped to take full advantage of Brandon's depleted state.Last edited by S. Saddler 1310; 03-05-2013, 10:38 PM.Comment
