You simply can not quote Whitaker vs Tito fight,

You know Whitaker was considerably past his prime, he had a big layoff, and was just back from drug rehab, and even though tito won, tito still looked bad.

          "tito still looked bad"

          He did ?

He won going away....flooring Whitaker, & dominating him. He didn't look so great in the first round & half, that's it. But, he rarely started fast in those days.

You can tell me his victory is somewhat tainted because of where Whitaker was at that point, but don't tell me he didn't look good.
He looked 100x better against Whitaker than did Oscar....that's for sure.

Had Whitaker of fought the same style/type of fight against Tito that he did against Oscar he it would have been entirely different.

Whitaker went at Tito which was either extremely ****** or a desperation move based upon his shot ring skills. ( I choose the latter)

The Whitaker that fought Oscar would have beaten Tito in my mind.

                I don't think so.

Tito was pretty sharp back then, & possessed something Oscar never has....a right hand worth a damn. Whitaker was very difficult to hit with a left, but could be reached with right hand leads (Raf Williams, Mayweather, McGirt, Rivera, Hurtado, etc. showed this).
The Whitaker who fought Oscar was not the wisp he was years before. He'd have given Trinidad more trouble, but would have not
                beaten him.
Remind you.....in his fight prior to facing Oscar, Whitaker was up & down like a yo-yo, against Hurtado- a 140lber.

DeLaHoya-Whitaker is still one of the worst fights (of importance) I have ever seen. Dull as ****, awkward.......yuck.

I have seen the Whit-Hoya fight, it was boring, full of stare downs and mostly boring ****.

A lot of people say that Whit was already on the way out here. By the looks of the fight, both fighters seem to be on their way out.

Tito used to lose a ton of rounds against guys you and me never ever heard of...he was sharp but I think we disaagree on how sharp-had Whitaker fought a defensive minded fight like he did against Oscar he would have given Tito hell.
