Yeah, I was happy to hear some appreciation in there. They seemed to boo Mora, and I heard some good cheering any time Abril landed something clean. Hell, he was really the only guy landing clean with any bit of consistency. He was clearly the better fighter, and Bogere's dirty tactics may have turned people off.

I don't think Broner destroys Abril. He may beat him - although stylistically I think it's an interesting matchup - but I don't really see Abril being 'destroyed'. Abril's a real smooth operator in there, but he's also got some real heart and I think a good chin. He's not a monster by any means, but I think he has the skills to make a lot of guys look bad, even if he doesn't end up with the decision.
I had the sound turned off, so I missed any cheering. I agree with everything else you wrote, however. I'd especially like to emphasize Richie's grit. The guy impressed me with that aspect tonight. I used to lean towards Broner in a match-up with Abril. No more. I think Richie just might edge out that annoying little punk.

Well, you do have a point there.

It's obvious that his main concern is not to take his opponent out (even tho I don't think he could even if he wanted to) but to showcase his superior skill set. Idk how to put it, he's a safety first type of guy but as we saw after the point deduction he can really put a hurt on you if he wants to. If you go by KO ratio you would say Bogere is the harder puncher but tonight we saw Bogere more hurt than Abril himself, Bogere was wobbled a couple of times. I only saw 1 of Bogere's punch really affect Abril and that's when he shook his head like he was dazed.

I noticed that at the beginning of the fight the crowd was really bias towards Bogere but as the fight went on it seemed like the crowd sided with Abril. Maybe that was the same crowd that watched him vs Rios and had it set in their minds that Abril was a runner/holder . But he showcased his stuff as the fight went on, especially after the 8th.

Totally. Richie has just enough power to assert himself when necessary. He just doesn't have enough to take anyone out, unless it's through an accumulation of punches. Even then, Richie doesn't throw enough punches to do so. lol

Curious what part of broners support tonite leads u to believe it was racial motivated? Did u ever consider the fact that they may know each other and friends... Considering the fact that one of them is an American and the other is from Uganda. Which race was he supporting? If a Mexican fighter cheers for a Puerto Rican is it racial? This board is comedy. Saw nothing tonite from Abril that suggested he could beat broner... Or that he even really deserved the fight? If broner and Abril stand toe to toe. Broners hand speed and power would win the fight alone. Abril doesn't move his head and his feet aren't quick enough.. The clean accurate punching that broner has displayed thus far in his career would stop Abril.

I'm pretty sure Gavin Rees deserved a fight with Broner didn't he? Broner stans...

Tell you what, if Richie fought that whole fight the way he did after the point deduction there's a possibility he couldve stopped Bogere. But like I said, that's not his style. He has enough power to make you respect him so that he can get himself some room and do his thing.

Oh btw, many people consider Abril or Vazquez the real #1 guys at 135 and Abril has a belt so yea he's more deserving of a fight than Gavin fkin Rees.

Rees obviously didn't belong in the same arena, let alone the same ring, with Broner. Abril would be a tall order (pun intended). Broner would have all sorts of difficulty with Richie. Tough fight to call, but no way Broner picks Abril apart like he has lesser boxers. Richie would make Broner look bad, and that's something no one wants to do, least of all a fighter with stardom on his mind.

Vasquez, Burns or he should move up. Abril holds too much.

Sho commentary was great right up until the end when they started insinuating that Abril could pose problems for Broner

Paulie seemed to be clamoring for the shown down the most which was hilarious to watch. I'd rather Broner vs Paulie @ 147 over Abril vs Broner. Broner would walk right through Abril, he's not Bogere..
                    Great insight.
