Most of Broners opposition has come from Ponce, Rees, Demarco, Litzau and ALL OF THEM stood right in front of him which made it easy for Broners lack of footspeed and thats why they were selected. Abril is a different beast. Team Broner just wants to make him fit the hype job and do not want him made to look ordinary or it kills the buz and Abril would make him look bad win, lose, or draw. So could Vasquez who also poses technical difficulties for Broner. -
Well 1st never said I was a broner fan. Just a boxing junky that calls it like i see it. Second no.... Rees talent and style wise shouldn't have been in that ring. But at the end of the day I wasn't the match maker that made the fight. Broner is 23 and unfortunately there is lil talent at 135. Why should he rush to move up in weight? I would honestly like to see him fight Ricky burns then go to 140 .problem is Vasquez may win and because he is with zanfer/top rank the fight with broner wil never get made. He needs to prove his worth first and you do that by fighting and beating a fighter like Abril. Even if you look bad while doing so. Come on fam really? Lets keep in mind Abril didn't get that belt by "winning" a fight. Yes he won it in all of our eyes but if bam bam didn't lose on the scales then move up.... We aren't even having this conversation cuz he'd still be the champ deserving or not. Paulie and Devon Alexander have belts? Should they be in the ring with manny? He's on another level and would wipe them both out. Should broner step up the comp? Sure is the answer to that at 130.... Doubt it. Funny.... I said his support tonite not his past comments. But I'll reply regardless. Black boxers do not receive the same amount of support from black fans as Mexican fighter, Filipino fighters and other races in general get from their respective fan bases. Boxing isn't the sport of choice amongst most blacks and unless u are competing at a ppv/mayweather level... Most blacks don't care or follow. No racism there. Just a fact.
