Too bad it was a huge let down, even tho my favorite boxer won

exactly this. They were even commenting on how much better Tito looked at 154, during the Vargas fight. In case you're wondering, the Vargas fight was right after the Hoya fight.
Tito even said, making 147 was getting harder and harder.Comment

Never.I rewatched that fight this morning and it's one of the craziest boxing atmospheres I've ever seen. Trinidad could barely walk to the ring because of how packed the Mandalay Bay was.
You have a unification fight between two undefeated prime fighters, at comfortable weights, representing two of the most loyal fan bases in boxing.
Looking at the young up and coming prospects, I can't think of an event that could ever match this fight in terms of relevance, the build up and the atmosphere.
Will we ever get to witness something like this again?
Nevermind what ever happened in the ring.
They both had the balls to face off to each other.
no fighter today has the balls to face a threat at least not the top 3 p4p
not
Mayweather
Pacquaio

That's because Trinidad was beating up rookies at 154.
Funny how it was Oscar who had trouble making the weightComment

I wish Oscar managed Canelo's career path the same way he did his own. Oscar fought everybody. I can't imagine promoters in today's world of boxing putting their stars against high risk, low reward fighters like Ike Quartey.
He's still young though so I guess he still has time.Comment

Maybe benavidez vs Gomez???? Lol But chances are we won't see a fight like tito vs odlh in a while. Blame top rank and Gbp. A beef that has no end in sight that even has the networks involved now. Fighters now a days duck each other on there own as it is now with promoters, networks and all these manages involved we're doomed as boxing fans. Boxing needs a UFC type dictatorship.plain and simpleComment
