Trinidad wasn't really so comfortable at welter by that point. 147 had gotten pretty tight for him.

exactly this. They were even commenting on how much better Tito looked at 154, during the Vargas fight. In case you're wondering, the Vargas fight was right after the Hoya fight.

Tito even said, making 147 was getting harder and harder.

You have a unification fight between two undefeated prime fighters, at comfortable weights, representing two of the most loyal fan bases in boxing.

Looking at the young up and coming prospects, I can't think of an event that could ever match this fight in terms of relevance, the build up and the atmosphere.

Will we ever get to witness something like this again?
          Never.

Nevermind what ever happened in the ring.

They both had the balls to face off to each other.

no fighter today has the balls to face a threat at least not the top 3 p4p

          not

That's because Trinidad was beating up rookies at 154.

Funny how it was Oscar who had trouble making the weight

I wish Oscar managed Canelo's career path the same way he did his own. Oscar fought everybody. I can't imagine promoters in today's world of boxing putting their stars against high risk, low reward fighters like Ike Quartey.

He's still young though so I guess he still has time.

Maybe benavidez vs Gomez???? Lol But chances are we won't see a fight like tito vs odlh in a while. Blame top rank and Gbp. A beef that has no end in sight that even has the networks involved now. Fighters now a days duck each other on there own as it is now with promoters, networks and all these manages involved we're doomed as boxing fans. Boxing needs a UFC type dictatorship.plain and simple

My bad. I watched that fight last night, and they kept bringing up the Oscar fight as if it just happened. Either way, Tito was having trouble making weight.
