It is not greedy it is presumptuous and naive. Look at things this way how much do novice actors earn in comparison to big stars for their roles in a film? They don't demand mega bucks because the film will stand to make a lot of money they show gratitude for the experience and exposure they will gain. Same with apprenticeships, how much does an apprentice earn in relation to an expert in the field? Peanuts but they don't complain because it is a necessary step to take.
