Everybody has different goals! Learn that! Most boxers will train for explosive power just like JMM did in his last fight for Pacquaio.

You tell me I don't know what I'm talking about you then go & say ''he wants to be fast so he wouldnt want to stack his body full of muscle.'' Simply a laughable statement & I'd bet anything you're in cr4p shape tbh

Here is a list of modern day boxers who weight train(ed) as part of their regime or came from a bodybuilding background.

    Ike Ibeabuchi
    Tim Bradley
    Denton Vassell
    Evander Holyfield
    Mike Tyson
    Arthur Abraham
    Shane Mosley
    David Tua
    Manny Pacquaio
    Jorge Linares
    Vic Darchinyan
    Roy Jones Jnr
    David Haye
    Vitali Klitschko
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Frank Bruno
    Kosta Tszyu

You don't see many fighters that are solid muscle in MMA? Oh really? lol

You don't think being strong in a clinch helps?

235 - pretty solid for his max, but he didnt really do a full rep so that really is not his max.
      wow u are so off

has anyone here ever lifted a weight ?

      the bar standard weighs 45lbs
the 2 larger plates are 45 lbs each 2x45= 90
the smaller plates are 25 each 4x25=100

      45x3 +100 =235

now .... someone who we presume walks around at 145-155 DEF NOT 160
nearly 100lbs or 170% of his body weight and over 200% of his fighting weight
      THAT IS VERY GOOD

im 6ft 2 165 and i maxed out at the exact same weight 2 reps but i have been lifting for a while
last thing fighters want are big muscles they really do slow u down i know from experience

so to put it in perspective klitcho would have to bench 410 or 500lbs to be equally as strong as broner p4p which is possible but thats ***ing klitschko

jcc 185-190 would have to put up 325 which is not happening

again boxers shouldnt lift like this max weight low reps broner prolly just has good genes

You guys are aware of Richard Pyror, George Carlin, **** Gregory, etc. right?

Why then does this warrant a multiple page, multiple day thread? It's not even mildly amusing. It's incredibly obvious and has no comedic turn whatsoever. Just not funny.

At 155 i benched 315lbs, WOW!!! LOL Broner is not that strong. 155 was was walk around weight. But at the same time bench does not prove ur punching power.

Was talking to a guy in the gym. He said that there are some guys who has to work hard to gain strength and some guys who work hard but have inner strength. You have inner strength.

I am 5'11 and 220 pounds. I go to the gym 4-5x a week. I am not into power lifting but my last set for bench press during my chest work out is 275 pounds. I can do it only once. There is a guy in the gym, shorter than me and about 170 pounds. He does 315 5-6x with ease. I am thinking what the hell do i have to do just to do 3 reps of 275 pounds.

Since were talking about boxers lifting weights, is it true JMM was squatting about 405 pounds?

I am sure. Its much easier to squat then to bench, legs are a lot stronger. At 155 i squated 450lbs, and did not work my bottom anything like my upper body.
