I'd assume he is walking around at 160+ so I'm not all that impressed As I can rep that at 170+ (**** with me). He is probably stronger than anyone in his weight class though

And I dont think he even got it up it looked like the spotter helped him

That means I can beat up Broner. Not srs

Its no myth dude, why do you think marathon runners look like anorexic athletes with very little muscle mass?
Agreed. Good post. Bodybuilders do light cardio, to control fat stores. Your point about marathoners is an excellent illustration of the effects of heavy running (cardio).

This guy is well over 50 he's 240lbs body builder who does triathlons, ironmen events etc.

Professional distance runners are skinny but body builders can do intense cardio without losing muscle.

Uh, its actually 4 10lbs and 2 45lbs plus the bar which is about 20 lbs

            so its about 150lbs

But its about what he should be lifting.

There's 18 year old kids at my gym around his size I've seen bench 275lb at least 5 reps. I don't think that even looks like 235 TBH.

If he did a full rep it would be impressive but he didn't even do it properly.

Thanks for the vids, man. That guy is pretty impressive, for any age. I'm not convinced with his views, however. It goes against not only everything I've ever read on the matter, but against my personal experience. I can't explain why he's successful at what he does, without wasting muscle, but I would argue that it's not the norm.

I seem to remember out of all the athletes, Frazier came second to a pole-vaulter. You could tell the guy lifted weights because he had good balance and set his feet properly. When Frazier did it, there was absolutely no technique, no balance, no anything. Clearly strong as ****, but obviously didn't lift any weights.

To the tough guys; stop acting like loser meatheads. If it makes you feel any better, he'd still kick your arse without even breaking stride, despite your ability to lie down and push a piece of metal above yourself that weighs more. I guess being able to come on the internet and **** on a pro boxer cause he doesn't give a **** about bench presses makes some people feel better though. Clearly not as good as spending some time looking in the mirror.

Who gives a **** how much he can lift and whether it's good or bad. Despite people saying it's piss poor and amateur hour, or that lots of people can do it, those lots of people ie you aren't 24 year old world champions. Clearly, functional strength is his priority thus doing some bench presses that supposedly an average Joe can do matters jack **** to him and matters little to being able to beat the **** out of someone who might be able to do a bench press better.

World champion boxer, elite international athlete, 24 years old on HBO. Average Joe's on the internet saying they can bench press more.

What's with the dumb comments "I've seen kids his size that can bench more than him!". You're not meant to be impressed, he's a boxer. I'd bet there are people Wlad's size that can lift way more than him - so what?

                      Functional strength is whats important.
