If it's true, how the hell did Guerrero talk himself into a Floyd fight?

He didn't talk, he earned his shot, the hard way.

What had Cotto done? beat a one-eyed shot Margarito, a 38yr old shot-to-bits Mayorga & Yuri Foreman?

I don't really see how Cotto was in a more deserving position myself.

He's beat alot top guys 20 lbs south of 147, but why is he on Floyd's radar with a couple of wins against sub-elite competition? I just don't get it. Only thing I can think of is he really believes his skills are slipping and wants to play it safe.
i agree with you. instead of gurerrero and then canelo. i think canelo and then martinez is what he should go far. martinez is really the fight for his legacy now that pacquiao is gone.

gurerrero is the easy money/low risk fight that floyd likes though. he's mexican and has a great background story.

Not sure anyone earns to fight Floyd, the guys who did never get the chance but Floyd "picks" who he wants. The "lettered titles" don't dictate to him and he's his own promotion so theres "nothing"" there!
I think this ending could define him as a solid fighter or it will carry on the "cherry picker" image!!
Personally I hope he fights from the center of the ring abit more than he usually does! His reactions to punches is more important than ever before and he must be able to pull the trigger and continue an attack too!
        We'll see!! Ray

He did what he had to do. I can see complaining about the competitiveness of the fight. But Guerrero is deserving of the opportunity.

Guererro didn't talk his way to anything.

He fought his way to his shot the old fashioned way by moving up 2 weight classes and beating two Top 10 WW's, one in which he was quite heavily favoured to lose.

Not a fan of the ghost getting the shot. He hasent earned it. Beating aydin and berto doesnt cut it. If the ghost beats floyd its more of money losing it then the ghost being better. Blame gbp for forcing this fight to the public. Theyve been trying to for two years now

I don't see anyone else at 147 deserving of a Floyd shot besides him.
