At welter you have Guerrero and Marquez. No one wants to see the Marquez fight again. Marquez is really a lightweight or Jr welter AT BEST. At Jr middle you have trout, Molina and Lara. So 4 by my count are more deserving. Not that many. K9 who's claim to fame is beating Cory spinks is out and vanes was getting his ass beat by Lara as their fight went on and should've lost to an old ass kassim ouma. I'll take canelo's victories over cintron, Rhodes, baldomir, mosley over anything on Kirkland's record including the victory over angulo. I think Floyd beats Canelo but Canelo's style and power poses more problems for floyd than the 4 mentioned above.

These kids that are 21 to 24 years old sure take a verbal beating from the "knowledgable fans"! If the classes don't have a strong ten deep of competitors then these kids wind up with ABC titles, big deal! Why not learn something about techniques THEN judge a fighter? The marginal competitors who are ranked in the top twenty are called "bums" and other ridiculous names. The trial horses and older veterans giving way to the next generation are essential to develop young fighters!! Thats how the great fighters from the 30s thru the 50 stayed in shape and if the opponent did well he moves up in the ranks as he fights contenders.

Hes not a joke. Hes Mayweathers biggest threat. LMAO. Real talk Canelo can fight a little bit but hes untested. We dont know if he can handle real adversity. Whats going to happen if his gameplay isnt working? Can he to adjust against top level competion? These are real question marks yet to be answered.

i agree he is a world champion but is untested against the best. to call him a joke or a true great at this point in his career is simply speculation or opinion

Lmao!! No one said he can stop floyd. Learn to read. I said his style posseses the most trouble for Floyd. He has a solid quick jab and always punches thru his target with a great variety of combinations. Good body attack as well. He has a good straight right which Floyd has been caught with in the past and can come in with a left hook. If you don't think Canelo has power then ask cintron. Sergio Martinez, Alfredo angulo, and Carlos Molina couldn't knock cintron out. To say Canelo has no power is not true. Duh I just said Molina, trout, and Lara are more deserving but Floyd wants money and Canelo is where the money is. Canelo still needs to develop though...I'll say it again he's only 22.

When Broner stepped into the limelight, he fought DeMarco the percieved number 1 guy at lightweight. When Canelo stepped into the limelight, he fought a second rate 147lb contender (M Hatton) for the 154lb belt and has'nt fought a credible challenger in 5 defences. See the difference?
