dude is 22 years old and judging by the fact he was willing to give tough guys like williams and kirkland a shot,i dont think he's scared of anybody.but ultimately, regardless of what a fighter wants, the business side usually gets the final call.with that said,i would like for his next fight to be against angulo

The only way he can be a joke is if he loses to a cherry picked opponent or an underdog. Until then he is a undefeated protected champion who happens to have a big fan base.

He is the real deal, his promoter is milking him though.

I totally agree with you in principle, but no matter what you and I think, the WBC,IBF, and WBA trinkets give a fighter prestige and earning power. Its a shame deserving 154lb contenders are being denied opportunities at that prestige and earning power because GBP won't match Canelo tough

Doesn't matter if you're 22 or 52, when you have a belt fight a championship schedule or give up the belt

Which is why he's a joke. Just like Bute was at 168. Owned a title in 1 of the deepest divisions & hadn't done squat against the divisions best. He will be bute'd too the minute he actually steps up in class.

He is fighting a so called "championship schedule" the WBC hasn't stripped him so he's meeting all their requirements. They're a joke. I don't buy that these trinkets bring prestige. Everyone knows they're corrupt. If you're a fighter who keeps trying to make great fights and/or you keep winning that earning power will come. Some fighters like Canelo already have that earning power cause they're beloved superstars. If Canelo gets rid of that belt everyone will still want to fight him for financial purposes. The WBC belt didn't make Canelo a superstar

Golden boy has actually tried to match him tough against Kirkland, p-will, Ortiz, and cotto. Those didn't come thru for reasons you may already know. He's not impressive...but somewhat solid for a 22 year old. Not many past champions were at his level when they were his age.
