Like Reed mentioned, Floyd outboxed Marquez, not bullied him or used his size or power. Floyd used his movement, counterpunching, handspeed, and the last bit of his reflexes which he no longer shows anymore. Mayweather-Marquez was Mayweather's last true perfect performance where he showed everything he could do and he basically did it while being rusty and coming off a 2 year lay off. He can no longer move like that.
Yeah he can, he did several moments in the Cotto fight, notably early and late in the fight. It's just that Cotto has a pressure style most of the time he fights, and can physically impose his size on Mayweather, so Floyd had to fight off the ropes more.

Marquez couldn't impose his size, never tries to impose his size, and doesn't fight well when leading. That's why Floyd could just hang in the middle of the ring and out box him all night.

I saw it too against Cotto but late in the fight. He can no longer move like that for all 12 rounds like he did against Baldomir, DLH, Hatton and Marquez. You could tell in the Mosley, Ortiz, and Cotto fights he was fighting a lot more stationary. He is smart though, he plays it off in interviews and says that it's just to please the crowd. But I don't think he can move like that for entire fights anymore. It's okay, he's 35, going to 36 afterall. He's not 25-26 years old anymore.

He didn't really move at all that much in the Hatton fight.

The biggest difference I saw from fight to fight for him was from Hatton to Marquez. I still said Floyd was prime when he fought Hatton at 30. When he came back against Marquez, he was still sharp as hell and quick, but he's slipped as far as movement and speed, just a bit. I don't really see too big a difference between Floyd in 2009-2010 and 2012 against Cotto, aside from the opponent in the ring with him.

Very true, it definitely wouldn't happen.

I think in the ring he seems similar but he definitely looks liked he's aged a lot since the Marquez fight.

In the face I mean, he looked like he's aged.

                My thoughts exactly.

Definitely. His face looks like it's aged more now that he's approaching 36. I was just talking about in the ring. I think his hand and foot speed, reflexes, and overall ability against Cotto was about the same it was against Marquez and Mosley. I still think Manny a couple weeks ago looked about the same as he did against Margarito and Mosley, the difference were the opponents he was fighting.
