Here is the argument from Haye's fans.. Vitali needs Haye in order to be considered great.. And Haye will be considered great if he beats Vitali.
So while Haye fans diss Vitali.. They will laud their man as great if he beats Vitali.
This certainly proves who needs who.
It's like Vitali is not great unless Haye beats him.. Then suddenly Haye beating him becomes remarkable.
    It defies logic.

I hope they fight.. But let's face it.. Vitali is 41 and Haye has many other options to cement his own legacy. Fury, Helenius and Povetkin might prove more than beating up a man obviously a step or two behind his prime.

    Here is logic..
Haye should say.. Vitali is the man.. He has beaten a Who's who is HW boxing.. By beating him I will be great.

When he calls his resume poor.. How does this make Haye look good if he beats him? He gets to say I beat a Guy who is mediocre. If he shows some respect.. He gets to say I beat a guy who is great.. And if he loses .. He can say he lost to great fighter rather losing to a mediocre fighter. Which does more for his legacy?
    You've made some good points.

A win for Haye would do better for Haye than a win for Klit. The reason being that Haye has only had 6 fights at Heavyweight to Klits' 50. Let me assure you though, a win for Haye over Klit will piss on Klits resume. A win for Klit and it will be just another win. Do you know why? The reason being that Klits cheerleaders have denigrated Haye and his abilities for years. Whereas Haye's main days stem from Cruiserweight class.

The fans and nuthuggers don't get into the ring.. The fighters do.
So what the fans say is of no relevance.
      Believe in your man.
Haye digs his own hole with his mouth.
The Klit fans have a genuine reason to cheer. Haye can make his own greatness by fighting in the ring.. Not the press.

I am a Klit fan.. But Haye is a class A fighter who could rule the division, he has it all, except a bit of common sense.

Accurate post apart from the bolded.

What the fans say is very relevant. They're the paying customers.

shame as i think haye is a great fighter.
By fighting Haye, it won't do anything for his legacy. All it will do is remove the duck tag that will emblazen his thick forehead for the rest of his life when people talk of his non achievements.

            • David Haye is quite frankly a selfish and un motivated fighter.
He could have cleaned out after k2.. easily.
Judging by his abilities right now he should have:
              Adamek Win
              Arreloa Win
              Povetkin Win
              Mitchell/Banks Win
              and
some big idiot like Wach's scalp as well.
Haye is easily the #3 HW of this era in terms of h2h skills. He is just one lazy and unmotivated **** who doesn't like getting hit.

Vitali should fight him regardless, because if Haye beats Vitali and he most likely will, I expect him to fight a lot more after that. He just want Vitali's head first to start things off. He have entered his prime. Chisora fight was Prime Haye... he isn't CLOSE to reaching his peak yet.

              • In Regards to Vitali.. I know h2h is subjective, but I think 'h2h' skills plays a lot more into Heavyweight rankings than lower weights.

Resume Wise; Vitali is probably C Level

H2H Wise: Vitali is a sure fire top 10 ATG HW.

In fact h2h, Vitali probably rank higher than Wlad.

                  this.

At CW Haye was someone, at HW he really isnt anymore than a ok contender who can win titles because the opps is terrible at the moment and hes only getting slower increasingly with age.

Its fairly obvious that Haye has got drunk on fame and his media friendly image, hes not going to be a significant prizefighter again.

Mind you he might take Vitali, but I personally think his best shot was with Wlad whose chin he could have cracked if he'd really put away all that posing he does in the ring these days.
