Lopez has good power and good timing. I like him but I think Khan, given a few more months would be too good for him. Right now, he still leaves his chin far too often. But I do like Khan's determination to become a better boxer.

I don't think he was ever really at 154 for this to affect him. He probably walks around at 154 or so and looked like it against Alvarez. He is probably already at 147 again as far as his training goes. Khan has reach and speed advantage I would guess. Lopez is fearless and can crack. If he can touch Khans glass jaw the way he got Ortiz, this is it for Khan. Intriguing fight, I see Khan edging a close decision if he can survive the later rounds.
Also, they need a ring bigger than 24ft just to contain these two giant egos.Comment

So beating the #75 ranked lightweight earns Khan a tittle shot. He said he wanted to avenge his defeat to Peterson after he lost that fight. Now he won't even talk about Peterson but wants the Garcia rematch. He never did rematch Prescott either. Peterson has a 140 pound title so there is his chance to win a 140 pound tittle. Khan talks about cleaning out the 140 pound devision and then beating Mayweather and retiring at 28 with nothing more to prove. What a dreamer. I don't think he can reverse his three defeats and he is not going to clean out 140 and then beat Floyd and retire. I would give him 5 rounds tops before Matthysse KOed him. Khan sure talks a good fight though.Comment

A Lopez fight would be a nail biter for the Khan Team, but it would be exactly what Khan needs at this moment. Lopez will keep Khan under fire all night long and it would be a good test to see how well Khan's defenses will have improved under Virgil. Khan still gets hit from time to time, if Lopez pops that jaw, Lopez may feel that taking a full Khan flurry may be worth it to crack that jaw twice.Comment

Great fight, can't imagine it not having a very fast ebb and flow. Lopez throws hooks and a lot of them, it'll be another test of Khan's "improvements."
It's 50/50 for me right now until Khan proves midway thru the fight that he's really improved. That's how it can work sometimes when seeing a fighter with a new trainer, you won't realize he's settled into a new style until the middle of a fight. It might not even be this fight. If it isn't then I can see this being an all out war. The right fight to take but still dangerous because Josesito throws tricky hooks in volume, even matchup.Comment
