Or perhaps Floyd doesn't have the options he once had. Both the Guerrero AND Canelo fights were proposed before and both were laughed out of the building.

Yeah but since then Guerrero beat an elite WW while Canelo beat a washed up WW and a JWW @ 154.

How do you know which fight Mosley had steroids for? He did random blood and urine testing for both fights.

Floyd fought Mosley 2 years before Canelo did, at his best weight of 147, when he was still elite.

Baldomir WAS the lineal champ when Floyd beat him, that was 4 years before Canelo fought him.

True but does Guerrero really have a greater chance at beating Floyd? I don't think so. I'm not saying he doesn't have the better resume, but PPV? I'd rather see the bigger name in Canelo, who may not be as good pound for pound as Guerrero, but is more dangerous.

I think that Bradleys win over Manny gives him the shot at Floyd! Its not a great promo fight because no one believes he beat Manny AND Floyd isn't interested in fighting some speedy little guy who will be a pain in the azzz to fight!
Robert is an opponent who will be right in front of Floyd so Floyd won't have to tax his legs the way Bradley would! The legs are the first thing to deminish and Floyd is very aware of that! Robert will come to fight and we'll see just where Floyd is at in regards to longevity. My concern about this being a great or good fight will be how Robert handles the punches from a fighter who has campaigned at 147 and even 154 for some time now! Floyd doesn't have big power but Robert has moved way up in a very short amount of time and thats my concern. We'll see, Ring the bell before Floyd winds up in jail again. Ray.

This would be an atrocious choice, his worst choice since his comeback. I have been OK with all his other fights since his comeback (yes, even JMM) but this takes the cake. You'd think seeing an epic like JMM vs PAC would make him think about topping it - but no, he wants to fight Guerrero.

And people who say RG is more proven that Saul FACT TRUE FACT - wait, beating Aydin and Berto makes him a better choice than Canelo?

Question - would Canelo beat Aydin and Berto? Yes, it's something that can be asked, as Floyd now chooses opponents from two weight division, so we can compare RG and Canelo.

Damn right, he would run through Berto and Aydin. FACT is that RG hasn't proven much either, especially not at WW. This is the guy that skipped the JWW division altogether FFS.

The legitimisation of RG as an opponent is a joke. Do people forget that a couple of years ago, he was stinking it up on HBO against Casa and Escobedo. What about the way he quit against Yordan?

And now, he's a "young hungry lion" cos he exposed Andre frigging Berto? Oh yeah, I forgot he's the Golden Boy Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year.

                    Please people.

Floyd is scamming you. We don't need this fight.

                    Canelo fight has genuine intrigue.

                    This?

                    Floyd Mayweather against Robert Guerrero?

                    Seriously?

That's why I think this guerrero fight is bull****. You fight once a year and it's not even what the fans want?
I strongly agree with the TS and with TRTboy.

Canelo would punish Guerrero if ever they'll fight in a catchweight. and he would also destroy both aydin and berto worse than Guerrero ever did.

we need to really compare what these guys can do in the ring since they are the only choices. Yes, I believe Guerrero has somehow earned it.. but that Guy just had two fights at WW and even missed JWW. logically speaking, if people complained about hatton being too small against Floyd before at WW, i don't know how would that make Guerrero, now that he's facing a relatively bigger Floyd than before.

Competition wise, Canelo is really the better fight since he'd batter guerrero also.

Many are ignoring TRTboy's post. people don't realize that september is just 4 months after May. That's really too much wishful thinking if Floyd sticks to that schedule.

Guerrero is a top Welterweight and a decent fight, it's not a fight I'm completely thrilled about, but I welcome it as long as 1. Floyd stays active 2. He fights Canelo in September as planned.
