why should he? he can beat both easily
fight Guerrero so he can keep his WW belt
then beat Alvarez for his JMW belt after that
supposedly, WBC wants to strip Floyd at WW soon
Floyd loves WBC belts, so he's protecting his hardware apparently

Question should be why does Canelo deserve to fight Floyd..Canelo is a solid 154 fighter, who has 41 fights..and a belt and still hasnt fought anyone legit at 154. GBP is trying to make Canelo into the next Chavez..They want a big name with the less possible risk, which is why they fought a washed up Cintron and a 40yr old Shane. So now people are trying to say PBF should fight him?..PBF is not a solid 154lbs fighter he can fight at 154 but thats not his weight. Does PBF choose his opponents carefully?..absolutely without a doubt he does...but he still fights big names..Guerrero beat Berto..who has Canelo beat?..oh wait he beat a 40yr old Shane..that makes him next in line to fight PBF..come on...give me a break..what a hype job.

And I want to see it go down sooner rather than later. There's a good chance Floyd looks like an aged fighter in the ring and Canelo has a great chance of becoming the sport's next big star. I'm hoping he's the guy in the ring across from Floyd when Father Time begins to work his magic.
The more exposure the better IMO.
Everybody makes more money this way to, which is the only reason they're fighting and Floyd loves the paper.
Canelo, IMO, is getting more popular regardless of what he does. I mean he beat down a JWW and people are hailing him as the best JMW. So he could probably fight Solis for real and still get the same acclaim.
True, Floyd is getting older and not the same fighter... so prolonging the potential fight between the two only works in Canelo's favor. If Floyd really does fight twice this year, him having Floyd second would only work in his favor

This would be an atrocious choice, his worst choice since his comeback. I have been OK with all his other fights since his comeback (yes, even JMM) but this takes the cake. You'd think seeing an epic like JMM vs PAC would make him think about topping it - but no, he wants to fight Guerrero.

And people who say RG is more proven that Saul FACT TRUE FACT - wait, beating Aydin and Berto makes him a better choice than Canelo?

Question - would Canelo beat Aydin and Berto? Yes, it's something that can be asked, as Floyd now chooses opponents from two weight division, so we can compare RG and Canelo.

Damn right, he would run through Berto and Aydin. FACT is that RG hasn't proven much either, especially not at WW. This is the guy that skipped the JWW division altogether FFS.

The legitimisation of RG as an opponent is a joke. Do people forget that a couple of years ago, he was stinking it up on HBO against Casa and Escobedo. What about the way he quit against Yordan?

And now, he's a "young hungry lion" cos he exposed Andre frigging Berto? Oh yeah, I forgot he's the Golden Boy Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year.

          Please people.

Floyd is scamming you. We don't need this fight.

          Canelo fight has genuine intrigue.

          This?

          Floyd Mayweather against Robert Guerrero?

          Seriously?
He doesn't like hard fight remember Floyd has a Masters Degree in Cherry Picken from Duckmaster University

Quite frankly, my dream scenario is for Floyd to test himself out against a strong junior middle like Canelo. The fight will do big numbers and I think Canelo has as good, if not better, a shot at beating Floyd as Guerrero. If he wind convincingly then Martinez in the fall. If it's close or we get a surprise, bring on the rematch.

What's funny is people act like Pacquaio-Marquez IV was some sort of monster fight and a huge risk. It was only seen as legit because Marquez still had Pac's number in November 2011 at 144. Going into Pac-JMM III, that fight was considered a joke because supposedly Marquez had no business up at that weight since he was beaten bad by Floyd.

But why should Floyd feel any urgency to fight someone who hasn't gotten a legit good win yet??? I mean he should be fighting Austin Trout next. At the very least Molina, Kirkland, or Angulo. He needs to get a legit good win first.

Floyd fans make excuses that Canelo isnt proven. Well JMM wasnt proven at 147 let alone 140, but Floyd didnt mind fighting JMM did he?

FLoyd will try to scam you.

Guerrero is coming off an impressive win, Canelo hasn't done shit to even deserve a shot at Floyd.

Guerrero, a top 3 WW, is a worse cherry pick than fighting a LW?

It doesn't matter what Canelo WOULD do. I think he would beat Martinez, should they give him the middleweight crown immediately? No because you actually have to fight the fights.
