I'd say Marquez. He beat pac moving way up in weight, at almost 40. This is also when pac was considered the golden god of boxing by some. His stardom wasn't near that back when Morales fought him. It's all a matter of timing and JMM found the better time to get the win.

On top of that, I feel JMM is a better overall fighter than Morales. Either resume is close, but when you add in the timing of JMMs win, and the fact I feel JMM is more sound than Morales, I go that route.

Marquez and its not even close. More intelligent, higher ring IQ. As proven by Marquez longevity at the highest levels. Too many wars for Morales. Less wars for Marquez because he was simply too good. He was there to hit and not to be hit. Marquez never took time off because of ring wear.

IMO Guty Espadas beat Morales in his prime as well.

morales did as much as marquez at even a time he was considered a unprime fighter, lol, moralesin all honesty accomplished more cause he wanted it more, lol, marquez wasnt fighting the guys that morales fought as a little guy, lol, morales beat pacquiao straight up on his first try(morales wasnt even in prime either), Marquez finally beat got the victory at a older age but everyone shoulda expected he would win after 4 tries

by the way, morales won fights while brawling in wars instead of using his skill(morales had the skill), lol, marquez could never beat pacquiao if he fought like a brawler like when morales beat pac, lol, lol, morales being all fat and out of shape still whooped on pacquiao who was still in prime according to everyone still even at that time

I can certainly understand having morales higher, but by quite a margin? I'm not sure that's possible. If you really compare their resumes there just isn't that much difference any more. Similar accomplishments, similar resumes. I'm not sure either could be considered higher by quite a margin now...

I wanna hear it either way?

Marquez is an ATG and finally has his career defining "Official" win over Pacquaio. Which, in fairness, probably should, be more.

But outside of that? How deep is his resume? Not very. What's his best win outside of that? Salido perhaps? Then who? Katsidis? Juan Diaz? I'd compare those to Morales win over Wayne MCullough, perhaps a tad higher.

Morales also has a win over Pacquaio. A career defining feat, also.

But outside of that, I think it's clear as day to see his resume is a lot deeper than Marquez' and I can't see how that's even remotely arguable.

Let's not even get to the fact he has a prime Barrera on his resume.

Guys like Zaragoza, Ayala, Chavez, Junior Jones, Espadas Jr, Kevin Kelley, Carlos Hernandez.

I can't see how an argument can be made unless you consider Marquez to have won all 4 of the Pacquaio fights.

Morales is greater IMO. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Marquez, he's a legend, but it feels like he's piggy backing off of Pacquiao's accomplishments. Pacquiao fights all these guys, climbs all these divisions, does things that Marquez probably couldn't have done, and Marquez just happens to have Pacquiao's number so he beats him and gets tons of credit almost by proxy.

To me Marquez was never given a real chance because sadly enough not many Mexicans enjoyed his safe first counterpunching style back in the feather weight division so because of him being less exciting he was always in their shadows.

To me, Morales is greater in resume and accomplishments but I think JMM has always been the better boxer.

With Marquez's knockout of Pacquiao fresh on everybody's mind and Morales' last great fight (not a shell of himself against sub par boxers with heavy hands) many years behind him, I will be very surprised if Marquez doesn't get the votes. Skewed poll.
