I think if there is, if Cotto uses the same tactics he did in the Margo rematch, we would see a totally different fight.

Great job by Trout BTW! His stock just hit the roof. If Canelo wont fight him, is there any interest from Mayweather I wonder? Would be a very interesting fight now. Better then Gurerro for certain!
He had a much easier time when he made Trout chase. I'm surprised he didn't stick with that strategy after that one round he had where he kept nailing Trout coming in. Maybe Cotto didn't have the stamina to keep it up, ?Trout was nailing his body all night.

I don't understand these guys thinking. Mayweather only gave up 3 rounds to Cotto at best. Wasn't close like so many want to believe. It was competitive at times but not close. Anyway, can people on this thread just talk about Trout and Cotto?

Good performance from Trout. Cotto didn't look good at all, no jab, no combinations, looked tired early on. I don't know if it was an injury, an illness or just father time catching up with him but he looks like he needs to retire soon.

I would have loved to have seen Canelo vs Cotto but the boxing gods decided otherwise. Trout vs Canelo let's do this!

i was thinking the same thing. some dummy said the same thing in the rbr thread. cong**** to trout though, he solidified himself as the no. 2 best 154 lber. hopefully alvarez doesn't duck him, but i think gbp will. they'll probably cash him out to mayweather.

I thought Trout style was too messy to deal with Cotto but he proved me wrong. Congratulations to Trout because he did what he had to do. Time for Canelo to fight some of these guys at 154. I'm still not overly impressed by Trout but good win for him at the Garden at that.
so is cotto's. now we know why floyd avoided cotto and went into retirement. if the roided floyd struggled with this faded cotto, the small non roiding version of floyd vs the fresh cotto would have been a beat down.

Canelo needs to fight Trout next, thats only fair, he just beat an elite fighter in Cotto, plus Canelo can at least try to get revege for his brothers loss to trout.

Great victory for Austin Trout, he really is a humble warrior and God fearing one at that, much respect to the man.
