I watched a British feed.

But Bernstein was the one who called the Agbeko fights too, and the first one was absolutely criminal. Mares was throwing low in this fight as well. Frankly Bernstein was probably justified. But he probably remembers the Agbeko fights as well, and rightfully so. At the end of the day, Bernstein is only human.

LOL theirs nothinig to debate on our lil convo to be honest. We are not arguing the fact where the punch landed but rather it if was intentional or not. I believe it is not and you believe that it was. I seen the video you posted, and I still dont think it was intentional and you do. Nothing more to discuss on that front you know. Even in the second Mares-Agbeko fight(where Mares didnt fight dirty) Al sounded like he was in pain when Agbeko was getting outboxed. He kept babbling and crying about what Agbeko is not doing instead of what Mares was doing.

bernie is just being critical, as he should as a analyst, as a commentator, as a professional; Mares has committed NUMEROUS fouls and gets away with it ROUTINELY, that is all bernstein is calling out....

fight after fight we see mares low blow, elbow, hit on the break, hit on the back, hit to the back of the head, repeatedly and yet not one point taken away, and if he has had a point taken away, I sure as hel don't remember because of the shear volume of fouls he's committed in his career as of late....


I like mares but I want to see him get called on his fouls OR learn how to be more crafty and slick with it and not make it so obvious.... take a page out of an old school fighters book, take a page out of hopkins play book. be crafty about it, be slick about it, be subtle about it..... mares is crude and unpolished, and he should be admonished for it.....


I like fouls in boxing, it's boxing, not ballet, not a game of tag, but blatant fouls and relying on them, I don't like so much... gotta be versatile with it...

Al Bernstein is a great boxing analyst, highly underrated and free of idiotic biases that run rampant in this forum.

I value his analysis greatly.
