Bernstein doesn't hate Mares, what he said made a lot of sense. The problem I have with Bernstein is that it's up to the ref to warn Mares for coming in with his head.

If he doesn't do that, he can't allow the other fighter to pull the head down. In the one where he was penalized, he literally grabbed Mares from a distance and pulled him down.

Funny how people still judge him from that fight, with moreno he might of hit him low a couple of times but people are exagerating. Why doesnt anyone complian with all the grabbing and running moreno was doing.

Well Bernstein has seen the last few fights of Abner and it seems to me riddled with dirt everytime. He had enough and it showed.

He's why GBP has no clue how to build up a fighter. You put the Mares vs Moreno or Agbeko fight anywhere outside of Cali away from Cali judges and refs he'd still win and people wouldn't consider him dirty. In Nevada he gets warned inside of 2 rounds, he gets a point taken inside of 4 rounds and I guarantee you Mares adjusts and still wins both fights. Not only would he win but he'd of won on neutral territory with neutral refs and without the stigma of being a cheater. It's not like Mares is an A- Hole outside the ring where he can embrace the bad guy persona like Floyd or Margo. He's a pretty good dude, why let him be painted that way? Bad promotion. Those fights happen in NY, Nevada, Chicago, etc Mares doesn't get away with doing that all fight but he still wins. Bernstein's problem was more with the Cali refs.

Like a lot of boxing fans, Bernstein is sick of seeing paid off refs ignore the constant dirty fighting Mares does, not only without the ref ever warning him but the ref penalizing the fighter Mares is fouling instead. Its sickening to watch.

Great point the display by Mexican mares and Mexican ref. was sickening. Al berstein had seen enough , the same shid happen in the agbeko fight. Repeated intentional low blows wth no consequence is crazy.
