Bernstein doesn't hate Mares, what he said made a lot of sense. The problem I have with Bernstein is that it's up to the ref to warn Mares for coming in with his head.
If he doesn't do that, he can't allow the other fighter to pull the head down. In the one where he was penalized, he literally grabbed Mares from a distance and pulled him down.
That's the lumping problem. Mares was allowed to cheat, and Moreno wasn't. Just like Mares was allowed to cheat against Darchinyan and Agbeko, but they weren't. Mares' opponents fight both him and the ref, every fight.
