I think if Mares comes in like that against Donaire he's getting knocked out.

I don't think it would last long enough to matter.....

donaire is too fleet footed and athletically superior to be trapped by mares.

I just wish people would stop dismissing how much of an effect that has on a fight. "Yeah, he's a horribly dirty fighter and gets away with it, but that doesn't matter..."

Yes it does! This is three close fights now where he has gotten away with murder. That makes the differences in these fights.

Mares and rigo are too small to beat donaire when you factor in donaire's other advantages in speed, power, athleticism, and slickness.
Also, Donaire is an excellent counter puncher. Mares can make it a good fight, but i just think Donaire is a notch above him in skill. Mares is more a brawler, and will get countered too much.

I'll take boxing skills over a brawler if they're pretty much on a level playing field.

Gets tired? He put on constant pressure last night for basically all 12 rounds. He's got great conditioning.

And what do you mean by "ugly fight?" Mares is an all-action fighter that is fun to watch. He doesn't put on borefests like Rigondeaux has been known to.

well Mares strategy wont be the same as he did against Chemito but i still feel Donaire beats him, i dont think will see much low blows or rough tactics cause Donaire will know how to counter all that, its just that Mares latest opponents cant keep him away so they hold his head down or turn there back on him while he is still punching causing all that crazy crap, i'll still cheer for Mares n i think he has a chance of beating Donaire since both are world class fighters but i believe the edge is towards Donaire

                  i think Mares beats Rigondeaux
