Slow? I think you need some spectacles or something mate, because mares is hardly slow. . .

Mares is the best combination puncher in the division, and one of the best in boxing.

I'm picking Mares to beat both Donaire, and Rigo.

Donaire has too many angles for Mares. Those that have been shhitting on Donaire lately for his match ups also seem to believe Mares, Moreno and Rigo are superior fighters. when the fights are made I'll take Nonito to beat Mares, and easily beating Rigo. heres how it would go down.

Mares: Has the heart and the chin to pull it off, but Nonito's timing is unreal. You can bet that with the way Mares bulls his way inside and wails away that there will be enough holes for Nonito to set up a big shot. His reflexes and speed would beat Mares to the punch and Nonito has a great uppercut, something Moreno didnt use enough of. If Mares can take Nonito's best shot then obviously it will be a long night for Donaire and he can jtake the fight in the same manner he has beaten Moreno and Darchinyan. I'll put my money on Donaire's power.

Rigo: I've seen Rigo get clipped with a left hook from a guy who is nowhere near Donaire's level, and though Rigo still dominated and won that fight, it was all i needed to see. EVERYONE who has jumped on the Rigo train told me Nonito wouldn't touch Rigo and that the cuban's defense and countering skills are far to good for Donaire to compete with. I say so good in fact that he can shell up for 12 rounds to avoid getting knocked out. After he feels the wind from Donaire's left i expect a Clottey/ Pac type of fight and the hype surrounding Rigo to fade quickly.

Also after Rigo's next fight, one where Im sure he's the favorite, it's time for the boxing public to demand he fight Darchinyan, Moreno, or Vasquez Jr if the Donaire fight isnt made right away. Looks like Mares is in position to step ahead of Rigo but either way we have to see after the Arce fight what top rank is going to do.

I like that Mexican fighting style of Mares, but it wont work against Nonito. Nonito would beat Rigo too, he's the boss of these small guys.

I think Mares wouldn't use the same strategy against Donaire. He must know Donaire is a good, powerful counter puncher, and would box more, but i still think Donaire beats him. Mares fought the exact right way against Moreno, smothering, pressure and stay inside.

tbo, i thought Moreno had more power...turns out he's a very good boxer that likes distance due to long arms. I hope Mares is more flexible than he said after the fight, that he's just a brawler. He needs to be able to box, counter, and maybe work on defense a bit.

He was pretty wild against Moreno, but that's what had to be done.

Only way for this fight to happen is when Mares gets 35 years old, shows signs of slipagge and is already with one foot into retirement. You don´t need that fraud Mares!.

Mares should definitely choose another style/tactics against Nonito. Against Moreno who is not a dangerous puncher it was the perfect strategy, just crush him.

It's not a question of Mares employing a rushing strategy, he will do so after realizing that he cannot box Donaire from the outside and after being rocked, he will try to crowd Donaire and walk into punches. Difference is Mares has no fight ending power, very little power and Donaire will hurt him bad.
