Molina, Williams and Martirosyan all better than Cotto, Cintron, Mosley and Lopez.
I would respect your opinion if it wasn't so biased. First off, Lara had an extensive amateur career fighting in Cuba, he's 29. Canelo is 22 and was already in line for opponents like Williams, Kirkland and Ortiz (who is the same size as Canelo). While I do believe he is protected by GB to some extent, he's not even in his prime yet, Lara is... So your opinion is dumb

I don't know why you guys are arguing, both fought like ****. They both lost fans and the public's interest to see them fight. more importantly Lara was suppose to look impressively so he could have more leverage in demanding a Canelo fight and he failed horribly. In all honesty this kind of fights is what's making casual fans not care about the sport anymore.

lara def disappointed tonight even though i thought he won the majority of the rounds they were able to get in. he was a bit too inactive for my liking, and it seemed like he showed vanes a bit too much respect in being so cautious. idk, vanes is a good fighter so i can understand lara playing it safe for the first half of the fight until he felt comfortable letting his hands go. either way, neither fighter impressed or made their case for getting a shot at the title. hopefully alvarez faces martinez or cotto (most likely cotto) next if vanes and lara do in fact rematch. we'll see what happens, but man, this fight was a let down.

he's not that good,if you read my comment correctly i said canelo isn't proven yet,but for all those who keep saying lara is so great are wrong,he's not what people think he is,honestly i don't see anything that stands out in him like some say that he would totally outclass canelo and ko him,i think winner of cotto/trout will be a tougher fight for canelo,,he keeps calling out canelo because of the big payday canelo would give him,lol actually i think 40 year old mosley is better than this guy

fans? lara has fans? he had to wear that "sombrero" to get the fans that packed the place to watch garica fight to get them on his side, poor guy has no fanbase, nobody cares about him,and if he keeps fighting like that running all over the place and dirty it will be worse, like vanes said, this isn't the amateurs

That was one pittiful fight. Lara sure disappointed me. He fought
scared. Although he did pick up the pace and won the last few rounds, it seems the tide was turning in his favor. It was still to early to call but it appeared that Vanes game plan was starting to go down hill. A draw was the right decision. I had Vanes winning the first few rounds. I doubt if either one would ever make anybody's p4p list.

the bad thing is we probably will see a rematch, hopefully its on telemundo or espn because thats where some hyped fighters or guys that bring nothing like ratings or fans belong

im just pissed this didnt go to the championship rounds so vanes could expose this foo with his far superior conditioning and stamina... lara got lucky his dirty headbutt caused a huge gash... i hope lara never gets another fight on hbo
Son, vanes was lucky if not for the headbutt(which he immediately say he couldn't see, he stop the fight himself) he would have been taking out, Lara found his range by the 5 and was putting his punches together and hurting Vanes, the writing was on the wall and VM had nothing that could have stopped what was coming to him, he is getting another paycheck thought or not...

First off that cut STOPS any fight! One more bit a damage to the skin and it may not heal correctly underneath, fact! You heard Roy Jones announce it as soon as he saw it and I'm a good cutman in my day and that cut stops the bout everytime!
Second off if those young men are the top 154lb divisions best I hate like hell to see the worst and I'm waiting for the thread that declares one or both the p4p Greatest!!!
Lyrica or whatever his name is should get 10% of his pay to cover his managements expenses, thats it!
The other young man came to fight and tried his best but he never "saw" a southpaw before, obviously I guess!!!!!
I need to see what that HBO is costing because the boxing isn't cutting it!
                    no pun intended!!! Stunk! Ray.

just finished watching this fight, and wow it was pretty awful

those compubox numbers were total bull****, just saying

                      I had it 88-84 Lara, 6-2, 1 even

I can't remember which round it was but it was a really close round, and could've gone either way. Harold Lederman is hilariously bad though, he had the fight 30-27 Martirosyan and Kellerman, Papa, and Jones were basically saying (politely) how his scores were whack lol

                      here's my RBR

                      1 10-9 Lara (Lara 10 - Vanes 9)
                      2 10-9 Vanes (Lara 19 - Vanes 19)
                      3 10-9 Vanes (Vanes 29 - Lara 28)
                      4 10-9 Lara (Lara 38 - Vanes 38)
                      5 10-10 Tie (Lara 48 - Vanes 48)
                      6 10-9 Lara (Lara 58 - Vanes 57)
                      7 10-9 Lara (Lara 68 - Vanes 66)
                      8 10-9 Lara (Lara 78 - Vanes 75)
                      9 10-9 Lara (Lara 88 - Vanes 84)
