Either Vanes did a lot better than I thought he would or Lara didn't do as good..I've seen Lara do way better but at the same time I've seen Vanes do worse..Lara wasn't really throwing much & when he was, he was just going with his jab & straight left(which he did score especially towards the end of the fight) but NO right hook following(żDoes he know such punch exist & that is effective?)& Vanes scored some nice hard straight rights which I think Lara felt & maybe that's why he was being very cautious(maybe too cautious)..They should just fight again..

He went crazy on Hernandez with right hooks, but he abandoned that punch against Vanes. Maybe because Vanes was so open down the pipe?

I'm a big fan of Lara, and thought he won the fight. But neither of them did anything for Canelo to be scared of. Actually he should fight both of them back to back. Mayweather, Martinez, and Cotto are all better fights. Lara is a favorite of mine and all, and he couldn't miss with the left down in the final rounds of the fight before it ended; but I don't see what Canelo would so much trouble in either of them.

so youre purely gonna judge every single round of every round based on how many punches are landed according to compubox? you do realize people judge fights not computers, right? and it matters when one guy is being the aggressor and the other is backing up resorting to dirty tactics.. maybe this amateur style worked for him in cuba, but do you wonder why both he and rigondeaux cant get any fights and always end up being in terrible fights.. now Gamboa is a great boxer and knows how to please a crowd... im sorry for a guy who was a 4-1 dog vanes did way more than lara who was a 7-1 favorite

Ali made a career of winning on hes bicycle? Even tho he didn't do a lot or anything near Ali caliber but he barely got hit either Matryosan couldn't hit him he said it himself, Lara got the first round no doubt and maybe the second and if you go by punches scored he won every round but the guy just gets no love from the judges with that amateur style **** BUT last 3 rounds he was picking Matryosan apart, i want a rematch i saw once Lara Got cut he got worried and stopped running and started tapping Matryosan at will. Shields should put rocks in hes shoes in my opinion.

Ali actually used his jab. What Lara does is closer related to a southpaw Mayweather/Hopkins, minus the money; hence no superstar treatment and no decisions. I must say, he lost fan points for the low blow and headbutts. They were seemingly intentional

if people think canelo is overrated,then lara is too,i've never thought much of him except that he's decent,not this awesome fighter some people say he is,i really believe canelo would beat him i just dont see anything that special in him,he doesn't know how to fight on the inside he just holds and his stamina isn't that great and yeah i can tell he felt some of vanes's punches and canelo punches harder,throws better combinations and is faster,i agree that canelo hasn't faced anybody but i'll also say this guy isn't what people think he is

ROLF, yes because their competition level has been so comparable... Lara has already faced tougher competition in his last 5 fights than Canelo has in his whole career.

And guess what? HE ACTUALLY FOUGHT guys in his own division!
