I voted average. I always thought he was a better match maker than trainer. 36 rounds with Marquez and they still cant figure dude out? He fights Manny going backwards for 12 rounds and Manny still looks silly.

to be fair to roach he has stated on many occassions that they want to gain lead foot dominance, and he tells manny that inbetween rounds, pacquiao just has a bad habit of wanting to look straight down the middle before he ejects a cross at you, and marquez's wide stance along with moving to his left makes it hard for him to do anything

its trash talk, It cant really be considered right or wrong because its not to be taken seriously.

you can argue that roach is overrated if you want but you cant seriously say he is less than average and a joke as a coach. senior just says that because it rhymes and hes in competition with roach but you already knew that before you made this thread

that is a good point. Marquez wins or nearly wins because of strategy every time. Pac has all of the physical advantages (power, speed, youth and even chin) and yet even with all of those advantages after 3 tries he still cant get it right strategy and boxing wise.

IMO opinion Fredde roach is abit overrated,he forces pacquiaos opponents to fight at catchweights and is only really popular cuz of manny,Floyd Sr IMO is beeter than roach,i loved watching an interview where roach wouldnt let manny fight shane mosley after mosley destroyed margarito but had.no problem fighting mosley when mosley was Washed up proper bad

when shane beat the **** outta margarito pacquiao had just fought oscar and went back down to fight hatton, then tested the waters again vs cotto at 147

he wasn't a 147 pounder yet, and no one thought he could campaign there, thus the thoughts of "cotto is too big, he's gonna ko pacquiao, pacquiao has never fought a legit welterweight with the power of miguel cotto" etc

                ya fool

Roach teaches all of his fighters to fight the same way. Therefore he cannot be a great trainer. He doesn't know how to enhance a fighters strengths.

but then again Ricky hatton did try to shoulder roll when he fought pac.
