IMO Rios would probably be the only one at 140 who could beat him based on his chin and constant pressure..To beat a hard puncher like Garcia you have to pressure him and take what he disehs at you and that is Rios's specialty!!
    Garcia would knock Matthysse out....
Rios would "probably" be the only one at 140 who could beat him... 0_o

    WTF is wrong over here?

Yeah, sure Garcia could do it too but........ too bad Matthysse couldn't. CHECK MATE!

Garcia is getting overrated due to his last 2 wins
Terrible is beyond shot, who cares that he KO'd him?
Khan was a good win, but still not all that
Garcia brushing off Lucas, hinting he's unworthy is laughable
Wait Garcia is overrated, but Matthysse isn't

Not the same. Danny had an opportunity against Khan. Amir was the favorite there. He deserves all credit for that W, but that was a fight Amir was supposed to win. Know he's on the driver seat, and he can make this fight happen if he's willing to do it.

Believe me.... He will not win that fight. All my points on that.

You don't have enough points to entice anyone to take it. All I can say is that remember this reply. If Garcia/Matthysse happens. Garcia takes it.

            • Rios isnt beating Garcia or Matthysse. Matthysse beats them both.

When you are constantly eating big shot after shot, it will affect you. Look at Margarito. All Mosley had to do is use some ring savvy and he took Margarito to school and put his ass out. Rios won't eat more than two punches from Garcia without feeling it. Sometimes a well timed, accurate punch is more effective than a bunch of hard punches. Always the ones you don't see coming. Rios is now this new monster but a fight before that he was considered a bum who couldn't make weight. Funny how posters flip flop on here.
Two KO's in his last two fights. One of them against a suspect chin like Khan (not taking anything away from him), and the other against a finished 36 years old Morales....and he's already in your sigh like a superstar.

Both of them...Rios and Matthysse KILLS that guy.

But i agree with the first part. The best chin is the one who do not get hit.

True... I have more important things to do that betting with points. I prefer just to comment. But remember...Matthysse knocks him out.

Please..... Matthysse couldn't even KO Zab Judah AFTER he dropped him late in the fight. Rios had one very good battle with Alvarado because dude fought his fight but when he didn't, he gave Rios a lil trouble. Dude couldn't even make weight prior two fights straight before he moved up. Good win for Rios though but answer this question...... has Matthysse or Rios fought anyone as good as Garcia yet in their whole professional career? To me, Matthysse not being able to get Zab out of there takes him out of the running as the guy to beat Garcia. Rios? Would have to see the fight but as I previously said. I favor Garcia in both matches. He is just smarter than both guys. The reason he is in my sig is because the left hook is wicked. Dude got fighters dancing and doing spins when he is connecting.

                    • All I'm getting out of this thread is Mathysse couldn't finish Zab Judah 2 years ago or finish Alexander a year and a half ago, so why would he be able to finish Danny Garcia. Is that really the type of fight analysis type posters we have on this site?

So now we're going back and forth with "Mathysse would win; no Garcia would win", but no one is taking the time to evaluate known characteristics of both fighters.

Garcia likes to slug toe to toe and counter his opponents. I don't see how these knowledgeable boxing fans on this site can't see that that would play perfectly into Mathysse hands.

Then folks bring up the Judah and Alexander bouts, as if Garcia and Judah/Alexander have similar styles. They don't. Not even close.

Mathysse is a better fighter than Garcia on the inside where Garcia is most comfortable fighting; face it, he likes to exchange. Garcia doesn't have a jab like Ike Quartey. He likes to stay mid-range and trade while using minimal movement then wait to try to land a counterpunch.

I was happy when Garcia beat Khan and I think he accomplished a lot, but after the Khan fight, I knew it would only be a matter of time before Garcia tasted defeat. Beating old ass Morales was suppose to change that opinion?

Again, if he beats Rios or Mathysse, we can anoint Garcia as the next coming. I think Garcia can beat Rios in a close fight, but Mathysse? Come on now.
