Canelo's a big dude. They should do the fight at 160 or 157.

I don't care what Sergio says. All fighters believe they can go down in weight and not lose their effectiveness. But can he really make 154 and maintain the stamina and energy for 12 rounds with his style of fighting?

The only way I think Canelo wins is if Martinez is severely weight-drained.

On the same hand, I can't Canelo eating the kind of power shots Chavez Jr. did. His size was a big factor in that, Canelo is a big guy of course, but not as big as Chavez Jr. Other guys around Canelo's size that Martinez has fought, Martinez has hurt and stopped.

Couple with Canelo's questionable endurance/stamina and lack of head movement....Martinez would probably drown him in the championship rounds.

Canelo is a big body puncher too. I don't think this is a good fight to take if your going to drain yourself.

Martinez can make similar money schooling Chavez Jr.'s ass again at the weight he's comfortable at.

Martinez wouldn't only be fighting Canelo for money though, it's to secure a fight with Mayweather. No one can deny him as a legit opponent if he takes care of Canelo. And if Pac loses to Marquez, then Sergio would be the last man standing.

Seems Canelo has given up on Floyd.

He wasn't running and holding on till the bell. Some of you be exaggerating on here. In boxing fighters get hit, knocked down and so forth but the point is to get back up and make it out the fight on your feet and that's what Sergio Martinez did. Canelo don't have the size or beard of Chavez Jr and that is basically what saved him. Canelo is unproven and will get beat down. If he was that good, he would have been fought one of the top guys at 154 already. The way he is handled reminds me of Juan Ma Lopez and Berto. They look and perform great against average fighters but in against someone willing and ready to go all out they fall short.
Speaking of short, Martinez is shorter than De la Hoya and Margarito.
