you dont get the point, i wrote that i think martinez beats him, prolly 70-30 probability there, i know his record and thats why i dont give him better odds, my point is hes willing to fight him, not like cotto whos ignoring him, ... read and comprehend... son.

Sergio Martinez would surgically take Canelo apart PLEASE MAKE THIS FIGHT HAPPEN. Even when Canelo loses I would still give him the utmost for finally stepping up. His rival Chavez Jr fought Martinez so why can't Canelo? Especially being that Martinez would be moving down. At this point Chavez Jr gets more props than Canelo. But seriously..... no one is beating Sergio Martinez at 154 to 160. Dude got heart, balls, technical skill, speed and power. His defense is questionable but he knows how to work the ring, adjust and be effective. Martinez by KO in the 10th.

I am not a fan of this fight at 154.

Serg hasn't been there in several years, is going to be 38. At 154, I see Canelo winning. At 160, I see Sergio winning.

          F**k this fight at 154

Canelo can win this fight but there's such a huge gap between Martinez and the low level guys he's been fighting. And the 8 months layoff isn't gonna help either. I believe Canelo is more talented but right now I'd have to favor Martinez.

Was Williams injured when Canelo signed to fight him?

I see a lot of cats really underestimate Canelo. He's a lot better than ****ing Chavez. And he's not going to just stand there and take a beating. He moves, boxes, and hits hard. Chavez just ****ing walks straight into people and that **** dont work against no real fighter.

You guys are obviously groupies. I use to be hard on Canelo but the guy has improved quite a bit. And I like the fact he's young and a real patient fighter in the ring. He doesnt seem to be rattled by much. I really think this fight will go a lot different than what most of you project.

Canelo has shown no sign of being willing to fight Sergio or any other top fighter.

He has said plenty to the media, but never once has he actually tried to fight a big name. He's always mentioned the big names then fought a Matthew Hatton, or a Ryan Rhodes, or a Josesito Lopez...

Canelo - the next Miguel Cotto

I'm from PR, and of course root for my man Miguel Cotto, but he is past his prime. You can blame the plaster for his beating with Margacheato, or the possibility of Pac being using "leaded gas" when they fought, but he left his career there. Canelo is young, strong, has fast hands and humilliated Old Man Mosley worst than anybody. I think Cotto should stay away from him, if he wants to continue his run and stay healthy. Same thing with Maravilla, he hits hard, moves a lot and can assimilate punishment. It would look a little like Cotto vs Zab, where Miguel had some trouble dealing with the speed, even being in his prime... but Martinez hits harder. Another fight to evade. I want to see Cotto fight a KKK, make Pac go up to 154 or fight a good technical fighter without a big number of KOs. Those should be his targets to keep making money for his family and extend his carrer a little more. If you guys don't like that, then don't watch his PPVs...

                    Canelo - Maravilla

Martinez hits just as hard as Canelo, and has better footwork, but is old and his body may not assimilate training for 154 as well as he thinks. His advantage is always the fact that he is nimble in the ring and the guys he fights are naturally heavier, but that won't be the case at 154, amd who knows how the knee responds. That cons make him tied up with Alvarez in my book, whose only cons are his inexperience and questionable defense.

If Canelo can improve a little on his defense and apply a decent jab or counter, I think he should be the winner. If on the other hand, he stands around like jr did - and got beaten bad, no matter what anybody here thinks - then Maravilla will dance around him all night.

                    Too close to call...

why people keep comparing Chavez jr. to Canelo? is it bcose they're Mexican?

I don't see any similarities in their styles. Chavez jr. is a fraud and has always been a fraud. Winning him doesn't prove anything, besides he almost knocked Sergio out, lol. If it had been a 15 rounder, it might have ended differently.
