True but Cotto did avoid Paul Williams and fought Michael Jennings for his vacated belt.

This is what I don't get, people bring things like this up and it makes ZERO sense.

1. Does any reasonable human expect Cotto to have fought Williams right after getting violently stopped against Margarito?

2. Paul Williams fought Quintana the second time in June. Cotto got killed vs Margo in July. Paul than fought Kolle at 160 and Verno Phillips at 154 over the rest of the year. As a matter of fact, he never saw WW again.

So where in this was it soooo pressing that Cotto fight Williams? Does anyone really think he "Waited" for Williams to vacate? He vacated in September for gods sake and immediately jumped two weight classes! Cotto fought for the belt in late February! It was nothing but a product of circumstance.

Cotto: Pacquiao need to stop draining me and fight me at weight. I want Martinez at 153 though. I tried to get Margarito at 150 but he insited on 153 so we agreed.

Where in this article does it say that Cotto wants Martinez to come down to 153?

Listen man...... I respect Miguel Cotto. I mean I used to give him a lot of s#!t back in the days but he is a serious guy and I like how he carries himself as a person and definitely respect how he broke free from Bob Arum and won't fold to get another Pacquiao fight but Sergio Martinez would pound Cotto to the ground and the fight would not be competitive. Cotto has nothing that can trouble Martinez and Sergio is putting beatings on bigger guys and late KO's. While Cotto is a good fighter, Martinez is a great one and he is just too quick and strong and Cotto just eats too many punches. I would love to see the fight but in all honestly..... this is an easy fight and payday for Sergio Martinez. Floyd would lose too against Martinez is my honest opinion. Sergio is bigger, fast and stronger than Cotto and Mayweather. Floyd doesn't perform dominantly at 154 like at 147 so Martinez would be a problem. Floyd's defense may get him through but Sergio ****s and Cotto would not see the final bell. If Cotto/Martinez happens then I'll bet 20MIL e-points on Sergio Martinez not just for the win but the KO.

Cotto has beaten the likes of Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito (who KOed Martinez), Carlos Quintana (beat Paul Williams, gave Joel Julio his 1st L), Paulie Malinaggi (took his 0), and countless others... so to say hes a "good" fighter is foolish. Hes a "legend" as Mayweather said... Martinez "too quick and strong", I've heard that many times before a Cotto fight... timing negates speed and Cotto has great timing.... Martinez has been seen to have bad balance being knocked down in numerous fights with punches that caught him while he was off balance... Cotto shoots one of the better jabs in boxing that has put down ironed chinned opponents like clottey... i have no doubt Cotto could get inside on Martinez... and when he does get inside, I could see Cotto finishing the KO job Bum Chavez started... Cotto has something Chavez doesnt- MAD SKILLZ... as to cotto being easy to hit... mayweather surely didnt think so as Cotto tanked his compubox percentages.

Martinez did finish Cintron by KO but the ref made the wrong call. Cintron got hit so fast and hard that he thought it was a head butt.
